PA Liberty Alliance–Effective at fighting for the Taxpayer and Property Tax Elimination

Share

property-taxesThe PA Liberty Alliance has been one of the more effective leaders in the fight to see PA School Property Taxes eliminated through SB/HB 76.  The problem has been opposition to the bill from unions who make donations to our elected officials.  But the PA Liberty Alliance has found ways to turn some of those politicians around.  The Alliance is composed of people from a number of Taxpayer, Tea Party/Patriot groups.  They lobby the politicians for passage of 76.  When they find an elected official not on board, they rally the forces and visit the politician’s district to educate the people on the benefits of 76, circulate petitions in support of 76 and finally set up a town hall meeting for the people to question their elected official.  This rallying of the people has been very effective in turning opponents into supporters.

One of the hard cases has been Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Turzai (see article on Turzai in the LVC Daily on March 1st).  Turzai has been opposed to 76 all along.  However, could his opposition have anything to do with his alleged receiving huge campaign donations from various “public sector unions?”

As of now the bill (76) is at the committee level in the state senate.  The following is a sample of a PA Liberty Alliance message;

Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman says …he wants School Property Tax eliminated…GREAT…so do we! But, Representative Scott Conklin of State College won’t even sponsor 76. This is a critical time for Property Tax, as this and the pension issue are at the forefront in Harrisburg. Now is the time to push our legislators as we’ve never been closer to passing 76!   Senator Corman says he needs to hear from his constituents, but is he educating them? WHO IS educating them? WE ARE!   Join Tri-county Campaign for Liberty on our Summer campaign in Rep Conklin and Sen Corman’s districts. The 76 Action Committee will be hitting the streets of State College each of the last 3 Saturdays in August (15th, 22nd and 29th). We will leave the Bethel Fire Company, 9675 Old 22, Bethel, PA 19507 at 7am all 3 Saturdays and meet in State College at 9am. CONTACT Tricountyc4l@Gmail.com or (717) 489-2019 TO HELP.   PA Liberty Alliance will pay to direct mail drop their districts as well as running advertisements letting folks know that CENTRE COUNTY HAD A 24% INCREASE IN FORECLOSURES in 2 years. THIS WILL STOP WITH HB/SB 76! A townhall meeting is being planned in State College and we are renting a hall like we did in Pottstown.   Maybe you just cannot physically help us…you’re working or out of town or whatever the reason. DON”T LET THAT STOP YOU FROM HELPING!! We are running ads, robocalls and direct mailers and that costs $$$. Please chip in whatever you can:     $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $200 or whatever you can afford. Send donations to: PA Liberty Alliance, PO Box 98, Bethel PA 19507.   Corman and Conklin’s constituents need to know that 1,383 FORECLOSURES IN CENTRE COUNTY IS ENOUGH! We will TELL THEM TO SUPPORT HB/SB 76 BEFORE THE PENSION CRISIS DRIVES SCHOOL TAXES UP ANOTHER 40% IN 3-5 YEARS. The key is Jake Corman who has ALL the power to move 76 for a vote, even in the Finance Committee. Urge Senator Corman to run the bill and DO NOT ACCEPT COMPROMISE with the Governor’s proposed tax increase or Mike Turzai. Corman’s contact information is as follows:   Harrisburg Office: (717) 787-1377 Centre County District Office : (814) 355-0477 Mifflin County District Office: (717) 242-2410 If you prefer to email, use his contact form located at http://www.senatorcorman.com/contact/   LOOK UP WWW.PTCC.US FOR MORE INFO AND VIDEO PRESENTATION LOOK FOR THE SEPTEMBER TOWNHALL EVENT IN STATE COLLEGE CONTACT Tricountyc4l@Gmail.com or (717) 489-2019 TO HELP ELIMINATE SCHOOL TAXES.   We are renting a hall in State College, running ads, running robocalls and direct mailers and that costs $$$. Please chip in whatever you can: $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $200 or whatever you can afford. Send donations to: PA Liberty Alliance, PO Box 98, Bethel PA 19507.

For Property Tax Independence, Dean Klopp
