Barletta Votes to Balance the Budget

Barletta Votes to Balance the Budget

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Congressman Lou Barletta voted in favor of H. Con. Res. 71, which establishes the congressional budget for fiscal year 2018, while also setting budget levels through 2027.  The bill passed out of committee by a vote of 219 to 206.

“I supported the budget because it balances in 10 years and begins the process of pro-growth tax reform for hard-working Pennsylvanians,” said Rep. Barletta.  “Pennsylvanians want a Congress that works for them.  They want rising wages, more jobs, and robust economic growth.  They want Washington out of their way.  Unfortunately, the current make-up of the Senate allows for the obstruction of their wishes.  This budget will allow for tax-reform to pass with 51 votes in the Senate, avoiding the obstruction of those who don’t want to work with the President to Make American Great Again.”

“I will be closely watching this process as it moves forward.”
