Week of October 9, 2017

Bills Pass Senate, Go to House for Further Consideration
Bills passed unanimously unless otherwise noted.
Senate Bill 530 (46-3) – updates licensure requirements and scope of practice for clinical social work;
Senate Bill 564 – requires protective fencing when constructing new bridges or renovating existing bridges over Interstate highways.

Bills Pass Senate, Go to Governor for Further Action
Both bills passed unanimously.
House Bill 45 – allows eligible patients with a terminal illness the “right to try” investigational drugs, biological products and devices not yet approved by the FDA;
House Bill 409 – updates the Uniform Construction Code adoption process.
