Tom Caltagirone

Editor:

I feel it incumbent upon myself to make a statement re: the ‘Me Too’ Sexual Harassment

allegations being made thruout the country, particularly those made against Tom Caltagirone,

State Representative for the 127th Legislative District of Penna. I’ve known Tom for several years

and have nothing but respect for his willingness to help anyone, and his hard work

in Penna Government for 40 years. He has offered help for me and my family in the past and

crosses party lines to assist anyone in need. He does this within the legislature also.

I do believe that many Sexual Harassment allegations are true, but once you are accused

you are presumed guilty and will carry that for the rest of your life (unless disproved). Where’s

the justice in that? Shouldn’t the accuser have information to back up their Harassment claim or is game

over, guilty as alleged?

I’ve seen comments that the accused should pay for a lawyer and court costs for a defense. What if

the State Government makes the decision on what the least cost path should be and the accused

has no recourse? What if the accused is ‘INNOCENT’? Should a person have to pay potentially

100’s of thousands of $ to defend against a lie?

What constitutes Sexual Harrasment anyway? I would like to see that defined specifically.
