New Schuylkill County VA Community Clinic Opens in Pottsville

Clinic expands and modernizes Veterans health care services in Schuylkill County

For Immediate Release – Feb. 8, 2018

LEBANON, Pa. — The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Lebanon VA Medical Center (VAMC) has opened its new Schuylkill County VA Community Clinic located at 1410 Laurel Blvd., Suite 2, Pottsville. The clinic is open for Veterans health care Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The new 8,740 square-foot VA Community Clinic has eight primary care exam rooms, four mental health consulting rooms, two telehealth-specific rooms, a laboratory, two shared medical appointment or group rooms and a teamwork room for staff.

The clinic provides a wide variety of services including primary care, mental health care, laboratory services, annual physicals and screenings, and treatment of conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, respiratory disease, common cold, influenza, tobacco cessation and specialty referrals. The clinic also has two providers who will provide women’s health care services five days a week. Additionally, the clinic will offer limited specialty services through its technologically advanced telehealth networks.

“This is very exciting for VA and the Veterans of Schuylkill County. We are bringing state-of-the-art, world-class health care right into their backyard,” said Katie Reesor, LCSW, Lebanon VAMC community clinics manager. “We are committed to ensuring these and all Veterans receive the best care possible. I hope Veterans who are currently not receiving VA health care will give us a try. I’m confident they will glad they did.”

The opening of the new facility allowed for the merging and consolidation of existing community clinics from other locations in Pottsville and Frackville. The new clinic was built specifically to deliver modern health care to Schuylkill County Veterans. The state-of-the-art and customized design optimizes patient flow and safety, and offers the latest in medical equipment and technology. The new clinic is operated by Lebanon VAMC under contract with STG International, Inc.

The Lebanon VA Medical Center is one of 170 medical centers in the nation with the sole purpose of providing world-class medical care to America’s Veterans. Lebanon VAMC serves a nine county area in South Central Pennsylvania covering Adams, Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, Schuylkill and York counties. Lebanon VAMC also oversees community clinics located in Camp Hill, Lancaster, Pottsville, Wyomissing, York and Fort Indiantown Gap. If you are Veteran, you may be eligible to receive care and benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. To learn more, call 717-228-6000.
