Democrat Senators are threatening to impeach Brett Kavanaugh if the Republicans vote to put him on the Supreme Court and the Democrats retake the House of Representatives.
There’s also the threat to bring criminal charges against Kavanaugh in the county in which Dr. Ford said the assault against her took place.
The problem with these threats is that there is no physical evidence, eyewitness testimony, and a lack of consistency in Dr. Ford’s numerous claims and testimony. Rachel Mitchell, the sex crimes prosecutor hired by Senate Republicans to question Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh, concluded. “A ‘he said, she said’ case is incredibly difficult to prove. But this case is even weaker than that…I do not think that a reasonable prosecutor would bring this case based on the evidence before the Committee.”
