Press Release–David Bacchino announces his candidacy for East Penn School Board

Share

David Bocchino is excited to announce his candidacy for a four-year term on the East Penn School Board.

Mr. Bocchino was born in Germany and grew up an Army brat. He graduated from high school in northeastern Maryland and holds a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Social Science and Secondary Education from Towson University and a JD cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law. He practiced law in Maryland for 15 years before moving to Pennsylvania in 2013. Mr. Bocchino has been a resident of Emmaus since October 2016 and while waiting to take the Pennsylvania bar examination in July is working in retail.

Mr. Bocchino served two years of active duty in the Army from 1986-1988 and four years in the Maryland Army National Guard. The National Guard activated his unit and he served in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Shield/Storm.

He sees the primary issue in the district as providing a quality education that sets students up for future success while protecting the money provided by the taxpayers of East Penn. As a protector of that money, he pledges to never vote in favor of a tax increase while a member of the Board and believes that the board needs to be more creative in meeting educational needs while not increasing the burden on the taxpayers. As a board member, Mr. Bocchino wants increased transparency in board operations and greater detail in the budget.

Mr. Bocchino is a member of the Unami Fish and Game Club, a member of the Board of Directors and secretary for the Allentown Preservation League, and he also serves as an alternate on the Emmaus Zoning Appeals Hearing Board.
