What is Conservatism, anyway?

Share

— Tony Wirebach, Berks County Patriots

Conservatism is the counter-point to anything politically “Liberal” or rather Statist, Collectivist, Fascistic … or the rash and typically irrational impositions of one faction of society against the consent of another …

Resistant to sudden change to previously accepted “traditional” moral standards.

Sympathetic to Law and Order, resistant to Legislative Anarchy or Bureaucratic Tyranny.

Reactive to TANGIBLE Threats to the Civil Society (such as Illegal Immigration or Islamic incursion);

Resistant to state-imposed “solutions” to INTANGIBLE or unproven Threats (like Anthropogenic Global Warming).

Sympathetic to Just Cause and Due Process;

Unsympathetic to rigid and dogmatic adherence to procedure at the expense of proper

WE, THE STUPID

WE, THE STUPID… The war started in the 7th century and lasted through the 17th century. I would contend it never stopped but historically the facts below are correct. This is why I choke when I hear someone say we will defeat or contain these Islamic terrorists in a few years or even 30 years as recently stated by Leon Panetta. If the latest batch of murders, be-headings, and killing of innocent Christians has shocked you, maybe you should read this compilation of historical facts about the hatred of Muslims. WE, THE STUPID… This is all factually (and historically) correct – and verifiable:

In 732 A.D. the Muslim Army, which was moving on Paris , was defeated and turned

Rich Shuker addressing the Lehigh Valley Tea Party

HB76 and SB76

by Rich Shuker

Home ownership has fallen to a 48 year low, the lowest it’s been since 1967. 1967 is an interesting date due to the fact that two years earlier school districts in the state of Pennsylvania were not allowed to directly tax the people. The Constitution says the House of Representatives is supposed to provide the funding for education

Because of the taxing authority by the school districts, the school tax has become a regressive and discriminatory tax targeting the low, middle income class, and the retirees.

Since 2011 school taxes have gone up 116%, despite the casino tax scam that was to provide tax

By Ronnie DelBacco, Chairman, Lehigh Valley Project 9/12 Tea Party

Recently we learned that Planned Parenthood actively engaged in the intentional harvesting of baby body parts for sale and profit through a practice of deliberate and selective destruction of unborn babies. Disgusting as this is, there just isn’t any way to sugar coat what they’ve been caught doing. Crushing certain lower and/or upper extremities to easily harvest the ‘more desirable’ and higher dollar fetching organs for resale is exactly the monstrous acts they’ve admitted on video that they do.

In a satirical video that NARAL Pro-Choice America recently posted on facebook in defense of Planned Parent Hoods (no, that’s not a misprint) they claim that

Short Shorts

From the Winter Edition (print edition) of the Lehigh Valley Commentator-Page 2

With Jihad erupting across Europe, we predicted much of this. Therefore we bring you our Short Shorts column from the Winter Edition 2016 of our print paper.

THE NATION: Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump has called for a temporary halt to all Muslims coming into the United States. Mr. Trump wants our government to seriously look into whether or not Jihadists are infiltrating the immigrant populations. Trump has been vilified by many across the political spectrum for this position. But is he right? Kelly Ripa, of the Kelly and Michael Show, questioned Trump about the Constitutionality of this move! Trump responded that there are no Constitutional questions

Why Washington’s Political Class Is Losing Control

Share

Sen. David Perdue / / TheDailySignal

David Perdue is a Republican senator from Georgia.

The Washington political establishment has hit the panic button. Not because they are afraid of any one individual or candidate, but because they are afraid of losing their own political power.

The Washington political establishment has hit the panic button.

This town is filled with well intentioned people who believe they are doing the right thing, but far too many have lost their way after years in Washington. Politicians pay more attention to special interests groups and powerful lobbyists writing checks to their next campaigns than listening to the people back home who sent them here in the first place.

This dangerous power vacuum has

How the Expensive War on Poverty Failed

Share

By Rachel Sheffield / / Mark Erste / at THE DAILY SIGNAL

“This administration today, here and now, declares unconditional war on poverty in America.” – President Lyndon B. Johnson, State of the Union address, January 8, 1964

This past Friday marked the 52nd anniversary of Johnson’s declaration and his pledge that “our aim is not only to relieve the symptom of poverty, but to cure it and, above all, to prevent it.” Yet after half a century and trillions of dollars, poverty has fought us to a standstill.

First, the War on Poverty has failed to achieve Johnson’s goal: to “strike[] at the causes, not just the consequences of poverty.” Since he declared “unconditional war,” poverty

On a Monday afternoon in October 2011, West Virginia Democrat Nick J. Rahall II waited at the Charleston airport for a 4:50 p.m. U.S. Airways Express flight to Washington. If the plane left on schedule, the roughly 80-minute flight would allow him to get to the Capitol in time for votes in the House of Representatives that evening.

Things did not go according to plan. The flight didn’t leave Charleston for another four hours, giving Rahall, then
