Frankly, Democracy Sucks.

By Tony Wirebach at Berks County Patriots

Free Markets don’t …

In a democratic process, everyone gets a vote, but not everyone gets what they want. Nor do they get what they need. Surely they cannot expect to always get what they deserve. In a democracy, only the majority gets their way. Or the barest plurality, in a multi-faction contest. The rest of us have to accept the scraps we are given, after the dominating special interest is finished doling out goodies to their friends and family. Democracy only creates the illusion of fairness. Even if your team wins, democracy does not guarantee that the final outcome will meet everyone in the winning sides’ expectations. Democracy allows for the

Ol Granny Old Time Reminiscing

Hello again, the Ol’Granny checking in. Not checking out just yet.

The other day my youngest Grandson, Brian, came over and while he ate the lunch I prepared for him, he asked me a question. Now this question took me aback a bit. In this generation of emails, chat lines, text messaging, and whatever else electronically, I was astounded by this question. Many times you just don’t realize that there are people in this world that have never seen or done some of the things that were so elementary in our generation.

I recall a neighbor child I was watching a few years ago, before and after school and, this was a very bright child.

Hey GOP! What are you going to do Tuesday, November 8, 2016?

Share

Dear Editor,

This is addressed to those that would normally vote for the Republican Presidential Candidate.

For some the Presidential Election in November is going to be very difficult. Prior to Obama, for many years, our country was headed in the wrong direction. With 8 years of Obama, that accelerated to the point of almost no return. Should Clinton get elected, for 4 or 8 years that will accelerate even further. She knows what Obama has gotten away with. Particularly with his executive orders, presidential memorandums, and placing his people in all the different agencies to do his bidding and them doing what we think is harmful to our country. Obama also decimated our Military; the Army

Ol Granny

Please don’t get sick of me. I really like telling you all these “ho hum” stories about our life. I like telling you all about the adventures of our Grandkids. I’m sure many of you reading this have stories just as cute. I try to just give the stories that are somewhat political so Berks County Patriots keep giving me the OK to publish them. So far so good.

This past Winter, we went out in sub zero rainy weather to watch – guess who — our youngest grandson at his track and field event. He is a pole vaulter. Wow – you should see him sail over that bar. A sight to behold.

Letter calls DOD on shoe policy for our military

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/04/14/no-shoe-in-new-balance-accuses-dod-balking-on-sneaker-buy-renews-tpp-fight.html Dear Editor,

Due to my present condition I really don’t want to take on another project. I seldom get involved with Federal Legislation because of the rhinos that represent us.

If you think our Men and Women in the Military should be treated as Number 1, please read my comments below.

We all know the contracts will go to those that will end up making these outside the United States.

We all hear stories and know of our active military and veterans and the second class treatment they get and the disrespect. At times I wonder what country am I living in that we could treat our highest as we do.

No one does

What is Conservatism, anyway?

Share

— Tony Wirebach, Berks County Patriots

Conservatism is the counter-point to anything politically “Liberal” or rather Statist, Collectivist, Fascistic … or the rash and typically irrational impositions of one faction of society against the consent of another …

Resistant to sudden change to previously accepted “traditional” moral standards.

Sympathetic to Law and Order, resistant to Legislative Anarchy or Bureaucratic Tyranny.

Reactive to TANGIBLE Threats to the Civil Society (such as Illegal Immigration or Islamic incursion);

Resistant to state-imposed “solutions” to INTANGIBLE or unproven Threats (like Anthropogenic Global Warming).

Sympathetic to Just Cause and Due Process;

Unsympathetic to rigid and dogmatic adherence to procedure at the expense of proper

Military Draft for Women? I don’t think so….

Share

by Tony Wirebach, Berks County Patriots

You can call me a male chauvinist pig, a misogynist, or just a jerk, but I don’t believe that women should be forced into the draft for military service.

It’s not that I don’t think women are up to the task. It’s just that I don’t believe ANYONE should be forced to fight for their country. Yeah-yeah-yeah — I know: “Nazi’s, Civil War, blah-blah-blah ….” ever wonder just how many tyrants have pushed their own citizens into the meat-grinder of a war of attrition, under the false moral premise that they have a right to force you to fight because of the presumed greater threat of

the schzophrenic left and the current Syrian migrant crisis

— Tony Wirebach, Berks County Patriots

Why is it that the Left is in chronic crisis mode over fleeting, intangible and largely overblown “threats” to humanity, but downright oblivious to REAL threats to the republic and its citizens?

If given a choice, between creating threats out of thin air, and responding to REAL threats in a reasonable fashion, the left, it seems, is always against what is in the best interest of the Republic.

When they do act, it’s in order to raid the public coffers, and create expensive and ineffective government redundancies.

When they don’t act, they stand in the way of
