Kahr Flees NY, Opens Pennsylvania Headquarters

From the Lehigh Valley Tea Party-Second Amendment Committee Newsletter

More than 200 people gathered Aug. 11, 2015 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the grand opening of the Kahr Firearms Group headquarters in Blooming Grove Township, according to an article in Soldier of Fortune magazine. Construction on the 40,000 square-foot building began in May 2014.

Kahr is now based in Rockland County, N.Y., and has branches in Massachusetts and Minnesota, with a captive outlet in Los Angeles. But New York’s overly strict gun laws, misnamed the “SAFE Act,” prompted the company to seek a more gun-friendly state, according to published reports.

The new building, which represents Phase I of the project, contains offices for employees, warehousing and shipping, and Research & Development Engineering. Plans for Phase

Will Liberals Listen to a Common-Sense Solution to Gun Violence?

From the Lehigh Valley Tea Party-Second Amendment Committee’s Newsletter

The news in the past few weeks has been dominated by a series of tragedies involving mentally unbalanced people who have used guns to kill innocent people. “President” Barak Hussein Obama – who has been silent about the slaughter of Christians and others by Muslim terrorists – has, along with fellow travelers like Hillary “Rotten” Clinton, and ex-New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, capitalized on the tragedies to call for gun confiscation and other violations of our Second Amendment rights.

The mainstream media, which has been an Obama cheerleader, has followed his lead and echoed his call to trample on the Constitution. But in an editorial, one patriotic publication, The Washington Times, stood up to these

ALLENTOWN MAY BRING BACK ILLEGAL GUN CONTROL LAWS

Share

by Lehigh Valley Tea Party

Allentown City Council is considering putting two illegal gun laws back on the books in light of a recent Pennsylvania Superior Court ruling, according to an article on lehighvalleylive.

Allentown had prohibited anyone from carrying a firearm on city property, including city buildings or parks. The city also required a gun owner to report a lost or stolen gun missing within 24 hours of discovering the weapon missing, notes the article.

Both laws violated state law, and in February, the council repealed its two gun ordinances due to the threat of legal action under State Law Act 192, which allowed membership groups like the National Rifle Association, Pennsylvanians For Self Protection, FOAC and others, to challenge local gun

YOUR TAX $ AT WORK: VETERANS AFFAIRS DOCTOR TELLS GUN OWNER “GO OFF YOURSELF”

Share

by Lehigh Valley Tea Party

The US Department of Veterans Affairs provides patient care and federal benefits to veterans and their dependents, according to the federal agency’s website (www.va.gov). But apparently one freedom-hating doctor at the Philadelphia office didn’t get the message.

It seems that a patriot posted a message to the Facebook page of Veterans Affairs employee Dr. Gregg Gorton. “I am all for gun control. If there is a gun in the room, I want to be in control of it,” wrote the patriot, according to a Washington Times article.

Gorton didn’t like that and replied: “Off yourself, please.”

Gorton (who, by the way, counsels suicidal veterans), now says he “regrets” posting the account telling the person to kill himself. The

PA Liberty Alliance–Effective at fighting for the Taxpayer and Property Tax Elimination

Share

The PA Liberty Alliance has been one of the more effective leaders in the fight to see PA School Property Taxes eliminated through SB/HB 76. The problem has been opposition to the bill from unions who make donations to our elected officials. But the PA Liberty Alliance has found ways to turn some of those politicians around. The Alliance is composed of people from a number of Taxpayer, Tea Party/Patriot groups. They lobby the politicians for passage of 76. When they find an elected official not on board, they rally the forces and visit the politician’s district to educate the people on the benefits of 76, circulate petitions in support of 76 and finally set up a town hall meeting for the people to

Beltway Insanity, by Ed Bender

Dear Editor,

My Knights of Columbus council volunteers to work at the Kennedy House soup kitchen to feed the homeless. At our meeting last night we were informed that anyone who volunteers there must now watch a government video detailing how not to be unkind to the homeless, and sign a roster signifying that this has been done.

What resulted in this decision? Was there a sudden outbreak of unkindness to the homeless at Kennedy House? No, actually just showing up to work there is an act of kindness toward the homeless. It turns out that the federal government subsidizes Berks County’s food bank. The nuns of Kennedy House receive food for the homeless and poor from the food bank. And, wherever there is federal

The Right to determine Social Norms

By Tony Wirebach

The Right to determine Social Norms … The recent Supreme Court decision forcing states to recognize Gay Marriage across state lines has created quite a buzz in the Twittersphere. It appears that if you are a “nice,” socially compassionate, “modern” thinker the right of a small but highly organized and vocal minority to do what they want trumps what has been traditionally denied to them, for better or for worse …

Now it seems that the freedom to do “what feels right for you” in the privacy of your own home is not good enough for this contingency in American politics; individual preference needs to be pushed aside for compulsory collective acceptance of what was previously seen as deviant, socially-UNacceptable

Do you think it is ok for school administrators to strip-search our kids?

From the Lehigh Valley Tea Party

Do you think it is ok for school administrators to strip-search our kids?

We don’t.

Recently, the Saucon Valley School District considered updating their policy regarding student searches because it had not been updated in about 10 years. The board’s attorney recommended using the standard text from the National School Board Association manual.

However, after an initial vote to proceed, one of the school board members realized that this policy would actually allow school administrators to conduct strip searches, if they thought it necessary.

How can this be? As it turns out, the US Supreme Court ruled on this issue in 2009. They decided that any given search of a student might violate the child’s 4th amendment
