By Daniel J. Mitchell @fee.org

Cuba has a very sad history. It traded a regular dictatorship for a communist dictatorship six decades ago, and the results have been predictably awful.

Oppression, persecution, rationing, spying, deprivation, and suffering are facts of life.

For a while, it was subsidized by the Soviet Union, but that communist system eventually collapsed. More recently, it’s been subsidized by Venezuela, but now that socialist system also is collapsing.

And this means extra hardship for the people of Cuba.

The previous goodwill of the Mexican people has run its course as criminals and desperately poor migrants from Central American and Africa flood the country siphoning off jobs and resources.

The lure of open borders, sanctuary cities, and perpetual welfare provided on the backs of hard-working American taxpayers has resulted in an overwhelming number of migrants traveling through Mexico. The massive caravans have exploited the Mexican government’s willingness to feed, clothe, and house migrants that are in their country illegally. The U.S. southern neighbor has now grown weary of exhausting its resources when its own people are not enjoying a standard of living even remotely similar to its northern neighbors.

(Tea Party 247) – “But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For “God has

Britain has a new Prime Minister as of this week. Boris Johnson will be taking the top office at Downing Street after a recent vote by the Conservative Party. Johnson’s first and main challenge will be reuniting a divided party and nation over Brexit; something outed Prime Minister Theresa May was unable to do.

The 53-year-old Johnson is a former journalist and mayor of London. He was a key figure in the initial success of 2016’s original Brexit initiative. Johnson’s latest victory was decisive, he topped competitor Jeremy Hunt by almost twice the number of votes to secure the top office. The UK reports a vote of 92,153 for Johnson to just 46,656

President Donald Trump’s top supporter in Silicon Valley said Sunday the United States needs to investigate Google’s “seemingly treasonous” work with the Chinese military.

In a speech at the National Conservatism Conference, tech billionaire Peter Thiel addressed China’s ties to Google, Axios reports. He asked whether Google’s artifical intelligence initiatives have been infiltrated by foreign intelligence agencies.

“Does Google’s senior management consider itself to have been thoroughly infiltrated by Chinese intelligence?” Thiel said.

“Is it because they consider themselves

The Trump administration is selling $2.2 billion worth of tanks and missiles to Taiwan but has delayed exports of new F-16s over budget shortfalls in Taipei.

The main piece of the latest arms package announced Monday is the sale of 108 M1A2 Abrams frontline tanks and associated equipment, including tank rounds, machine guns, and tank-related gear.

“The proposed sale will help improve the security of the recipient and assist in maintaining political stability, military balance, and economic progress in the region,” said Army Lt. Gen. Charles
