By Michael W. Chapman | (CNSNews.com)

(CNSNews.com) — A new survey by Gallup shows that only 36% of Americans are confident in public schools, which is the highest level of confidence since 2009.

“The 36% of U.S. adults who express ‘a great deal’ or ‘quite a lot’ of confidence in public schools is a six-percentage-point increase from 2016 and marks the highest confidence rating in eight years,” reported Gallup on Sept. 14.

CHILD ABUSE IN THE CLASSROOM: A LEGAL CHALLENGE TO ESSA

On September 20, 2017 there will be a national press release and 2 live Press Conferences (Texas, Indiana) to formally announce a national campaign to repeal the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA passed Dec. 2015) and restore the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Currently we have 21 state coordinators and our hope is before long to have all 50 states and DC on board. We are prepared to take legal action if necessary.

FERPA passed in 1974 is a federal law that governs access of educational information and records including personally identifiable information (PII). Protections under FERPA were gutted in 2011 by the Obama administration

ERIC OWENS Education Editor/The Daily Caller

Yet another American college is suffering an “unexpected” plunge in enrollment and a massive budget deficit after a series of outbursts by radical fringe protesters and professors.

This time, the school is Oberlin College, a private, 2,900-student enclave of progressivism in small-town Ohio where the cost for a single year of tuition, fees and room and board is $69,372.

Oberlin is facing a $5 million budget shortfall for the 2017–2018 academic year due to lower student enrollment and a related drop in revenue, reports The Oberlin Review, the student newspaper.

A school choice silver lining

Share

By Natalia Castro at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

Hurricane Harvey has left Houston’s citizens displaced, damaged, and in need of an opportunity to rebuild. Luckily, the destructive hurricanes of our country’s past have left a model for recovery that Texas is prepared to utilize. With hundreds of devastated schools, Houston must look to New Orleans for proof that school choice can provide students and parents with bright prospects following the tragedy.

Principals and administrators reported working last Monday for the first time this school year, only to find dozens of buildings with severe flood damage. NPR reports this week that as many as 25,000 students could be displaced, while administrators scramble to find bookcases and computers in this

Nothing fosters division more than the leftist indoctrination happening in our public schools.

By Arnold Ahlert · at The Patriot Post/ https://patriotpost.us/articles/51136

“The day after the election I was texting my mom to pick me up from school and she almost had to!! Every teacher was crying in class, one even told the whole class ‘Trump winning is worse than 9/11 and the Columbine shooting.’” —a student describing the scene at Edina High School in Minneapolis last November

America is a divided nation. And nothing fosters that division more than the legions of public school students who have been fed a steady diet of progressive ideology for more than four decades — one that asserts America is a fundamentally flawed nation in need

Court allows PA school district to continue unwritten policy that violates student privacy

Last week, Judge Edward G. Smith ruled that the Boyertown Area School District can continue to violate the bodily privacy rights of their students.

Boyertown school officials failed to respect the privacy rights that all students have under the U.S. Constitution and Pennsylvania law to use bathrooms and locker rooms without members of the opposite sex present. A court ruling late Friday, denying the relief requested by the students, will allow students of the opposite biological sex to use sex-specific facilities based on how they self-identify.
