Republican Rep. Claims Trump’s Behavior is “Impeachable”

~ Conservative Zone

On May 18, 2019, U.S. Representative Justin Amash declared on social media that President Donald J. Trump has “engaged in impeachable conduct” according to TheBlaze. At first glance, this proclamation might not seem like anything out of the ordinary. After all, liberal lawmakers have been desperate to impeach the President ever since he took office. Astonishingly, Amash is a Republican. Predictably, the Michigan lawmaker’s remarks have been praised by those on the left and excoriated by those on the right, including the President.

Besides condemning Trump, Amash also bashed Attorney General William Barr for “deliberately misrepresent[ing] Mueller’s report.” The Michigan Representative made his allegation in a long Twitter thread after comprehensively reviewing the

7 Persistent Myths About Homeschoolers Debunked

Time to put these misconceptions to rest once and for all

By Jeff Minick

In the last 50 years, homeschooling in the United States has grown from a tiny movement composed primarily of conservative Christians and John Holt “unschoolers” to its present size of around 1.69 million students. Despite these numbers, and despite the fact that most Americans are familiar with the concept of homeschooling, some misconceptions continue to make the rounds.

Let’s look at seven of these long-standing myths.

Myth #1: Homeschoolers are Unsocialized

If you homeschool your children, they’ll fail to develop certain social skills. “What about socialization?” Numerous people asked me this question when my wife and I began homeschooling our children in the late 1980s, and

State Senator Lisa Boscola’s OP-ED on School Funding Formula

Antiquated Basic Education Funding Formula is Hurting Lehigh Valley Homeowners and Students

Op-Ed Column by State Senator Lisa Boscola

The Basic Education Funding Formula is the single largest education funding stream in the commonwealth’s budget. Until 2014, each year when the General Assembly passed a budget it distributed basic education funding dollars to our school districts based on what they received the year before — regardless of whether the student population grew or shrank. This led to large

disparities throughout the state when it came to where money went versus where it was needed. Some school districts received over 70 percent of their funding for their school programs from the state while other school districts received as low as

North Carolina Governor Under Fire for Proposing Freezing School Voucher Program

A billboard campaign in North Carolina is taking aim at Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper after his announcement proposing freezing and eventually ending a scholarship program that has benefited minority students—more than 30% of which are African-American, according to North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority.

The billboard says the governor is “failing when it comes to helping minority students” and encourages residents to call Cooper to reverse his decision.

A group called the Job Creators Network launched the campaign on May 15

Whiteness Is The New Evil

UPDATE: “A Catalyst for Hate and Division.”

New York Public School Teachers Ordered to Favor Black Children Over White Children

Whiteness Is The New Evil

By Paul Craig Roberts at Paul Craig Roberts/IPE

The assault on whiteness is now part of official educational policy. In New York City the head of the education department, Richard Carranza, a son of Mexican immigrants, is conducting a campaign against toxic white supremacy culture. His training program for teachers identifies objectivity, individualism, belief in meritocracy, and Protestant work ethic as manifestations of white supremacy that have to be rooted out of the education system. Carranza says these white values constitute a deep-rooted bigotry. Carranza dismisses whites, who object to his portrayal of their

Common Core Has a Core Problem

Instead of leading to better education, the standards have devolved into a battle over funding.

Robin Smith · at the Patriot Post/

“Contrary to our expectation, we found that [Common Core] had significant negative effects on 4th graders’ reading achievement during the 7 years after the adoption of the new standards, and had a significant negative effect on 8th graders’ math achievement 7 years after adoption based on analyses of NAEP composite scores.” —The Center on Standards, Alignment, Instruction and Learning (C-SAIL) preliminary study, 4-1-2019

Uh oh. That Race to the Top money of 2012 — totaling over $400 million — that served as the bolus to prime the funding pump for America’s schools employing some form of Common Core State Standards didn’t

Washington Post Editorial Board Slams Sanders, Teachers Unions for Charter School Opposition

BY: /Washington Free Beacon

The Washington Post slammed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) and teachers unions in an editorial Monday for their stark stance against charter schools, saying the schools help rather than hurt minority students.

Sanders, a leading contender for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, has called for a suspension of federal funding for charter schools and an outright ban on for-profit charters. He wrote in his education plan that they “disproportionately affected communities of color” and cited organizations claiming they had intensified “racial segregation.”

The Post said studies showed the opposite of Sanders’s

Stacking the SAT Deck

One’s racial and economic privilege or lack thereof will be calculated in secret.

By Arnold Ahlert at the Patriot Post/

Earlier this year, students at Saratoga Springs High School were given a “privilege reflection form” and asked to calculate their privilege based on point totals added or subtracted from one’s score. Unsurprisingly, if one were white, male and/or heterosexual, points were added to one’s score. Those who were black, female, and/or homosexual subtracted points from their total. “At the end of the survey, students scoring negative 100 points or less were considered ‘very disprivileged,’ while students who scored above 100 points were told to ‘check it daily’ — as in check their privilege daily,” the Daily Gazette reported. Now, similarly poisonous nonsense
