Schools Ordered to Help Illegal Aliens, Hold “Undocumented Immigrant Awareness Day”

Share

OCTOBER 21, 2015 From Judicial Watch

The Obama administration is ordering the nation’s public schools to support illegal immigrant students, promote the president’s amnesty and “embrace and value” the diversity and cultural backgrounds of the foreigners receiving a free, American taxpayer-funded education.

In a 63-page “Guide for Success” issued this month, the U.S. Department of Education directs teachers in the nation’s publicly funded schools to “understand the cultural and educational backgrounds” of their students and to “model multicultural sensitivity.” Teachers should also “engage in self-reflection to address personal biases and increase multicultural competence,” according to the new mandate that also orders the incorporation of diversity and immigration into instruction. “Plan and host trainings on multicultural issues that educate teachers

Jane Fretz Strikes Again

Share

We find it ironic that once again former East Penn School Director Jane Fretz promotes her Teacher’s Union slate of School Board candidates as being pro-education and the election opponents as anti-education. She has done this in many East Penn School Board Elections since 1990.

The latest example of Jane Fretz political propaganda appeared on Lehigh Valley Live on September 29th and once again in the East Penn Press. To quote the latest from Jane Fretz; “I am concerned about the East Penn School Board election this year as it pertains to the Chris Donatelli/Carol Allen slate. They are being promoted by people with a political agenda who want to undermine the success and excellence of the East Penn school system.”Jane does not

Senator Bob Mensch: My Latest Op-Ed on the Budget Impasse

Share

Seven in 10 Pennsylvania school districts reported they plan to raise local property taxes for 2015-16, with rising pension payments the single most common reason for the tax hikes. In the near future, one out of three dollars sent to school districts will be diverted from classrooms to pay the pension liability.

From Senator Bob Mensch

The most significant hurdle to enacting a state budget and relieving the burden on social service agencies stripped of funding is our very own governor.

In March, I sat alongside my colleagues on the bipartisan Senate Appropriations Committee for three weeks of budget hearings and listened to every state department’s financial needs. In the following months, I worked hard to pass a budget that addressed the needs

Education Is Truly Dangerous … to Tyranny!

Share

“Education is dangerous. It is enough if they can count up to 100…. Every educated person is a future enemy.”

by John F. McManus at The New American

It isn’t necessary to explain that Hitler’s Nazi regime amounted to extreme totalitarianism. The leaders of the so-called “Master Race” considered huge numbers of human beings unworthy, even unworthy of life itself. But not all were to be exterminated. Some were needed as workers to produce goods and some were forced to become servants for the Nazi leaders.

In 1959, journalist William Shirer authored The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, a monumental 1,200-page study detailing much about Europe’s experience with the Third Reich. Shirer laid out the attitude of Hitler and his chiefs about virtually

New Orleans Charter Schools Are Better, Not Perfect

Share

Gone is the traditional central district office that assigns students to schools, hires and promotes teachers in negotiation with a union, and controls everything from budgets to textbooks.

by Bob Adelmann at the New American

Before Hurricane Katrina damaged or destroyed more than 100 of New Orleans’ 128 public schools in August 2005, Cohen College Prep (CCP) was one of the worst-performing schools in the city, with very few students graduating and fewer still being accepted into college. In the aftermath CCP was turned into a charter school, and now almost 100 percent of its students not only graduate but are accepted into college.

Results like this, appearing all across New Orleans’ charter schools, are leading many to conclude that this is Katrina’s

School District union overtime adds to public pension crisis

Share

The East Penn School District’s public union contract (see pgs. 6, 30, 31 and 32) has a section called “Extra pay for Extra Work”, normally refereed to as overtime pay. School Board member, Lynn Donches, asked a very insightful question at the 8/10/2015 school board meeting. She asked the administration whether the teachers who get paid overtime to coach the after school programs have this “Extra pay for Extra Work” added to their base salary. The answer, yes it is.

The list of programs is long, students can learn to juggle, scrapbook, play guitar and even Lego. Each costing $35.33 a session with a maximum of 8 sessions. These sessions were not figured into the “Extra Pay for Extra Work” costs
