Walter Williams: Diversity Obsession

By Walter E. Williams |

A common feature of our time is the extent to which many in our nation have become preoccupied with diversity. But true diversity obsession, almost a mania, is found at our institutions of higher learning. Rather than have a knee-jerk response for or against diversity, I think we should ask just what is diversity and whether it’s a good thing. How do we tell whether a college, a department or another unit within a college is diverse or not? What exemptions from diversity are permitted?

Obnoxious students in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, are allegedly assaulting teachers, disrupting classrooms, and damaging property. Teachers are begging administrators for support, saying the situation is out of control, The Patriot-News reported.

Shockingly, some of the worst behavior is reportedly coming from some of the youngest students in the Harrisburg School District.

“Teachers and students are being hit, kicked, slapped, scratched, cussed at … and observing other students flip over tables, desks and chairs. Teachers have had to take the rest of their class into the hallway to protect them during these outbursts,” Harrisburg Education Association President Jody Barksdale Continue reading…

Alarming number of Baltimore high schools had zero students proficient in math, study shows

Sara GonzalesREPORTER/the blaze

A new project that analyzed 2017 state testing data found that one-third of Baltimore, Maryland, high schools have zero students proficient in math.

What are the numbers?

Project Baltimore found that 13 out of 39 high schools in the city had zero students that were proficient in math, according to the testing data. Another six schools only had 1 percent of their student body who tested proficient in math.

In plain numbers, in half the high schools in Baltimore, out of the 3,804 students who took the state test, a mere 14 were proficient in math.

What’s worse, in 2016,

A professor at a Pennsylvania college has been working in recent weeks to have the school revoke a conservative group’s status as a student organization, arguing that it leans in a “homophobic, sexist, racist, and anti-Muslim ideological direction.”

Wendy Lynne Lee, who teaches philosophy at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, says that Turning Point USA (TPUSA), a nonprofit organization that promotes limited government,

Liberal Professor: Dumbing Down of America Began in Public Education

ONAN COCAFreedom Outpost

Editor’s note: This is only one of many reasons why people should remove their children from public schools no matter the cost. However, when it comes to the curriculum, you can at least get a headstart for free by clicking here.

Liberal, feminist (in the classic sense), college professor Camille Paglia is at it again, triggering America’s leftwing crybabies with her blunt honesty and her perceptive commentary about the ills in modern America.

In a recent conversation with conservative philosopher (and educator) Christina Hoff Sommers, Paglia reveals that many of our current problems on the college campus really began in public elementary and

American Education or Socialist Indoctrination?

By Tabitha Korol /Constitution. Nikita S. Krushchev said, “Comrades! We must abolish the cult of the individual decisively, once and for all.” Vladmir Ilyich Lenin said, “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.”

The teachings of the Left include discrediting the Bible and replacing religion with social justice, dishonoring America and family, controlling the schools and curricula, and normalizing promiscuity. The Left has set about “deconstructing” (breaking down) the child’s psychology, removing every facet of life that provides the sense of security needed to create a mature, stable, responsible, independent, confident, and productive adult who will contribute to a free society. And it is through today’s schools that they are deconstructing our

Dear Editor,

I have attended the East Penn School Board meetings and have some concerns that seem to have fallen on deaf ears. When Board member Carol Allen brought up the PAYS (Pennsylvania Youth Survey) for grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 at the September 25, 2017 meeting, I was quite concerned about that survey. I was able to acquire a copy of the over 200+ questions and was shocked to read some of them. As a parent, I know I would not want my children answering those invasive questions. Truly an invasion of privacy
