COMMENTARY BY

Star Parker is a columnist for The Daily Signal and president of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education.

Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas is, once again, under attack.

And, once again, the attacks are from liberals who cannot tolerate Thomas’ consistent, unyielding and faithful commitment to America’s founding principles.

The latest concerns Thomas’ 20-page opinion offered up in Box v. Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky, recently considered by the

The narrative that won’t die

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.), one of nearly two dozen Democrats running for president, blamed racism for the fact that one of his potential rivals lost her 2018 election during a CNN town hall.

A member of the audience asked Moulton what he would do to dismantle systemic racism if he was elected president. The questioner specifically asked him to go beyond criminal justice reform in his answer.

“We have a problem with racism in America today,” Moulton answered. “If this country wasn’t racist, Stacey Abrams would be governor. Because people of color are being systemically denied the most

Leftism Makes People Meaner: Reflections on the Torture of Paul Manafort

The sadistic treatment of Paul Manafort illustrates something I have believed since I attended graduate school in the 1970s and saw the behavior of left-wing students: Leftism makes people meaner.

There are kind and mean conservatives and kind and mean liberals. Neither liberalism nor conservatism makes people kinder or meaner. But this is not the case with leftism. With the handful of exceptions that accompany every generalization, leftism makes people meaner, even crueler.

Take the transfer of Manafort, the one-time Trump campaign manager, from a federal prison to New York’s

LAREDO, Texas—Guarding this sector of the southern border involves a set of challenges that is quite different than nearby stations in the Lone Star State.

I learned this during a tour of the border last week that included this city of about 250,000 across from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, just a few hours away across the

Mulvaney: ‘We’re Never Going to Protect Everybody Against Everybody Who Is Deranged’

By Melanie Arter | cnsnews

(CNSNews.com) – Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday that there’s only so much the government can do to protect people against an insane person intent on causing harm.

“So there are things that the government can do, and there’s things this government is doing, but we’re never going to protect everybody against everybody – who is deranged, insane. I don’t know what this shooter’s motivation was,” Mulvaney said about the Virginia Beach shooting massacre that left 12 people dead on Friday. “We talked about that before, so you’re never going to make everything perfectly safe, but

With 1,200 extra cops on the street, at least 42 people shot throughout Chicago over Memorial Day weekend

Chicago Tribune/USAGOP 4

At least 42 people were shot, five fatally, throughout Chicago on Memorial Day weekend as severe storms kept people indoors for the holiday and 1,200 officers were added to patrol the streets.

Several of the victims were shot within five hours on Sunday at a Near West Side housing community, police said.

One person died and two others were injured at the ABLA Homes around 1:30 a.m., but it wouldn’t be the last time that morning officers would respond to gunfire in the 1300 block of West Hastings Street. Around 6 a.m., five more people were shot on the same block, and this time two of them died of their wounds.

On Monday night, felony charges were announced
