Does the education bill fund Planned Parenthood?

By Robert Romano at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

On Dec. 2, the House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved 359 to 64 the so-called “Every Student Succeeds Act,” a reauthorization and amendment of the “Elementary Secondary Education Act of 1965” providing federal funds to states and cities for public schools.

As we were analyzing the text of the conference report hours before the vote, Section 8035 was brought to Americans for Limited Government’s attention that it could open up a new funding stream for groups like Planned Parenthood.

At a time the House was voting to defund Planned Parenthood via the budget reconciliation process in light of despite explosive video showing organization employees talking about selling the body parts

Law Enforcement Took More From Americans Last Year Than Burglars. But It’s Not That Simple.

By Melissa Quinn /at The Daily Signal.

The federal government, by taking Americans’ property through civil forfeiture, raked in more money last year than burglars did.

According to crime data from the FBI, and highlighted by the blog Armstrong Economics, federal law enforcement agencies took in more money through the proceeds of cash, property, and houses seized through civil forfeiture in 2014 than burglars did.

A report from the Institute for Justice found that last year, the Justice and Treasury Departments reported net assets—money left over after expenditures—of $4.5 billion in the agencies’ asset forfeiture funds. The Departments of Justice and Treasury deposited more than $5 billion total into their accounts in 2014.

Vote Fraudsters Jeopardize Electoral Integrity

(Photo: iStockphoto

Our right to vote is one of the core foundations of the American republic. Elections determine the future of towns and cities, states and the nation, and as such, every American must be able to say with confidence that electoral results are reliable and reflect the will of all eligible voters—and only eligible voters. This is why ensuring the integrity of the electoral system is so important. So long as elections are pathways to power and prestige, there will be those who would rather rig the vote than risk a loss. Vote fraudsters dilute honest

The media’s faux outrage over “domestic terrorism”

By Cliff Kincaid at Renew America, Provo, Utah

We don’t remember any outrage from the media over the alleged roles played by Obama associates Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn in the 1970 bombing murder of San Francisco police officer Brian V. McDonnell. In fact, the media peddled the nonsense that Ayers and Dohrn, who helped launch Barack Obama’s political career, were “anti-war activists” who bombed a few buildings and never hurt anyone.

Since “domestic terrorism” is now a topic of concern for the media, in the wake of the attack on the Planned Parenthood facility in Colorado, can we expect the media to pressure Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch to gather new evidence in the McDonnell case? It’s not likely.

West Germany’s Former Chancellor Predicted Europe Would Have an Assimilation Problem

By Mike Gonzalez /at The Daily Signal

In 1990, former West German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt told me in an interview that massive Islamic immigration into Europe kept him awake at night. Between pinches of snuff, Schmidt said he worried Muslims wouldn’t assimilate, and that this would become a big problem for the continent.

Schmidt’s ruminations are worth remembering following French President François Hollande’s visit to President Barack Obama Tuesday to ask for help in what he has called France’s war on ISIS. Hollande, who has been much more assertive than his host on defeating ISIS, to say the least, has been candid that “complicity from the inside” is one of the problems he will have to tackle.

I won’t quote

Did GAB’s Kevin Kennedy break the law in John Doe talks with Lois Lerner?

By / at

Part 289 of 290 in the series Wisconsin’s Secret War

MADISON, Wis. — The state’s political speech police and their prosecutor partners early on referred to their joint John Doe investigation into conservatives as the “Badger Doe.”

But documents obtained by Wisconsin Watchdog indicate Government Accountability Board director and general counsel Kevin Kennedy early on sought the involvement of federal agencies — including Kennedy’s “good friend” Lois Lerner at the Internal Revenue Service.

The documents raise some serious questions as to whether the GAB violated its own confidentiality statutes as well as the John Doe secrecy

Congress must enforce the First Amendment on IRS targeting

By Dustin Howard at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

The Left’s fervor and furor against their enemies is pervasive. There exists a multi-front war, in which speech, cultural and social institutions and faith are being reviled, marginalized and even silenced. This serves to polarize our country, and empower an alien ideology that strives for cultural hegemony, as they wield intolerance as a sword, ironically, in the name of tolerance itself.

As we see histrionic Mizzou student protesters creating safe zones that reconstitute segregation, communications professors openly threaten student journalists and watch as state governments persecute long held religious understandings of marriage, we must ask: Who has the moral authority to halt these egregious acts? While the solution

With Mass Shootings, the State Makes Us Less Safe

By— Justin Murray at Mises Daily

In the wake of last month’s shooting at Umpqua University in Oregon, national debate has once again been sparked over the role of firearm controls. Gun-control laws must be passed, we are told, that target these events and reduce or eliminate their frequency. However, much like most debates in the political realm, convenience and sound bites take the center stage over understanding root causes of violence itself. The debate is further confused by improper data comparison and information gathering techniques, mainly to drive a pre-designed political agenda and not to attempt to solve the homicide problem.

Before we get into the issue of general homicide, it is important to clear a few
