Apparently, the strategy of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), and other opponents of privacy and freedom, is to continually repeat a big lie in the hopes people will eventually come to believe it. That’s how they have attacked a new law in North Carolina known as the Bathroom Privacy and Safety Act (HB 2).

The Bathroom Privacy Act was a necessary and reasonable response to the Charlotte City Council’s passage of a harmful ordinance

A Texas man and his Burmese Christian band, who had $53,000 seized by law enforcement in Muskogee, Okla., in February will get their money back, the prosecutor said.

Muskogee County District Attorney Orvil Loge confirmed Monday afternoon that civil and criminal charges filed against Eh Wah, a 40-year-old musician are going to be dropped.

“[Eh] Wah had court this morning and following court, I looked at the cases and the

Email Info Could Have Exposed Clinton Server in 2014

(Washington, DC) – The Obama State Department last week admitted it withheld a key Benghazi email of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from Judicial Watch since at least September 2014. If the State Department disclosed the email when first supposedly found, Clinton’s email server and her hidden emails would have been disclosed nearly two years ago, before Clinton authorized the alleged deletion of tens of thousands of emails.

The developments come in a July 2014 Freedom of Information (FOIA) lawsuit seeking records related to the drafting and use of the Benghazi talking points (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:14-cv-01242)). The lawsuit, which

Earth Day’s anti-fossil fuel focus could plunge millions into green energy poverty

Share

By Marita Noon at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

Friday, April 22, marked the 47th Earth Day. You may think it is all about planting trees and cleaning up neighborhoods. But this year’s anniversary was closer to its radical roots than, perhaps, any other since its founding in 1970. Considered the birth of the environmental movement, the first Earth Day took place during the height of America’s counterculture era. According to EarthDay.org, it gave voice to an “emerging consciousness, channeling the energy of the anti-war protest movement and putting environmental concerns on the front page.”

We did need to clean up our act. At that time “littering” wasn’t part of our vocabulary, The air in the

We Need Separation of Bathroom and State

Share

By at Mises Wire

The saga of the so-called Charlotte bathroom ordinance — and the state of North Carolina’s response to it — has taken on a life of its own. At the national level leftists are accusing North Carolina of bigotry while, in the name of tolerance, a growing list of performers and businesses are boycotting the state. Unfortunately, what has gotten lost in all the rhetoric surrounding this issue is the truth about both the original Charlotte law and the state’s response to it.

In late February the Charlotte, North Carolina, city council passed an “antidiscrimination” law, scheduled to go into effect on April 1. It was aimed at protecting what, in the view of the city council,

Congress should settle Puerto Rico debt restructuring to avert taxpayer bailout of creditors

Share

By Robert Romano at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

Will the House-proposed Puerto Rico legislation, H.R. 4900, restructure the territory’s $72 billion of debt, or will it lead to a bailout of creditors?

Under the bill, the financial oversight board certainly has the authority to restructure Puerto Rico’s debts — in which creditors would take a haircut — but in its current form it is not mandatory they do so when no other arrangement can be reached, nor are secured creditors explicitly given preference of being paid first over unsecured creditors.

Yes, the board created might restructure the debt equitably, but then again it might not.

All the bill provides is to review Puerto Rico’s voluntary arrangements

How Central Planners Crippled Japan’s Economy

By at Mises Wire

The greatest tragedy of the 2008–2009 financial meltdown was not that it happened. The collapse of asset prices was the necessary result of near zero interest rates. No, the most devastating aspect of the financial meltdown is that central planning alchemy lost no credibility. Policymakers around the world are still turning to Keynesian and socialist interventionism to address problems caused by Keynesians and socialists. The twin sledgehammers of central banking and almost unlimited state power have so distorted global markets (again) that some economies are now terminal. The latest victim of the interventionists and micromanagers is the nation of Japan. A once genuinely productive and innovative nation has,
