Baltimore police use secret technology to track cellphones with FBI involvement

Share

by Brad Matthews | Watchdog Arena

Baltimore police have been using an invasive device known as a “stingray” to track cellphones thousands of times in recent years. They have collected and withheld this information from courts at the behest of the FBI, according to the Baltimore Sun.

The stingray device mimics a cellphone tower, tricking devices into connecting with it. These forced connections allow the operators of the stingray to obtain information unique to the cellphone for tracking purposes.

The police, who try to keep the device under wraps, officially use it to track stolen phones or to find people. The devices can also be

Obama’s stealth climate treaty

Global trade agreements like the Trans-Pacific Partnership can be used to reduce greenhouse gas emissions around the world.

So said Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers Jason Furman in an April 8 speech to the Brookings Institution in favor of the Pacific trade deal.

Furman was referencing the 2015 Economic Report of the President, outlining the supposed environmental protection benefits of trade deals such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership. According to the report, “Trade agreements can raise environmental standards in countries that otherwise would not be motivated to raise standards on their own.”

The report also states, “Strong, enforceable environmental provisions pursued as part of

Yet another area of unjustified government takeover: the Internet

Share

by PATRICK GARRY, RA ANALYST with Renew America

An article I wrote twenty years ago described the Internet as America’s next frontier. And for the past twenty years, it has been a wide-open, innovative, constantly changing – and yes, somewhat unruly – frontier. But all that may have changed with the Federal Communication Commission’s recent announcement that it will now treat the Internet as a public utility, regulated under the same laws that once governed the Ma Bell telephone monopoly.

This dramatic change in the government’s regulatory oversight of the Internet is the most extreme expression of the “net neutrality” movement. In basic principle, net neutrality is a concept that commands near universal agreement. Net neutrality refers to an open Internet, free of discrimination

East Penn School District – A Safety Review. East Penn School District goes proactive?

Share

At the April 13th 2015 East Penn School Board (EPSB) meeting, The public was presented a story about how the district was going proactive in its desire to keep the children safe! How? By hiring a School Resource Officer (SRO) or more accurately a cop/police officer. Is Emmaus High School so dangerous that the administration believes it is essential to have a hired gun walking around their hallowed halls?

It appears that when someone working at a school district says, “It’s for the children”, their actions speak louder than their words, and one should look at what the East Penn School District (EPSD) administration does, not what EPSD administration says.

Take the essentially secret teacher union contract that was recently voted

IRS political targeting never again

Share

by Rick Manning–at Net Right Daily and Americans for Limited Government

Recently, Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Ill.) introduced H.R. 1104, the Fair Treatment for All Donations Act, that will protect donations to 501(c)(4), (c)(5), and (c)(6) groups, regardless of their ideological perspective, from any executive action by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to apply the gift tax.

Applying the gift tax to these tax-exempt organizations is something that has simply never been done before, and yet the agency may be actively considering such an approach.

In July 2011, the IRS issued the following statement on numerous inquiries the agency was receiving about applying the gift tax to 501(c)(4)s:

“Recently, questions have arisen regarding the applicability of the gift tax to contributions to

Kick Open the Doorway to Liberty: What Are We Waiting For?

By John W. Whitehead

“The greatness of America lies in the right to protest for right.”—Martin Luther King Jr.

Everything this nation once stood for is being turned on its head.

Free speech, religious expression, privacy, due process, bodily integrity, the sanctity of human life, the sovereignty of the family, individuality, the right to self-defense, protection against police abuses, representative government, private property, human rights—the very ideals that once made this nation great—have become casualties of a politically correct, misguided, materialistic, amoral, militaristic culture.

Indeed, I’m having a hard time reconciling the America I know and love with the America being depicted in the daily news headlines, where corruption, cronyism and abuse have taken precedence over the rights of

The real power of the one percent

Share

By Cliff Kincaid

Statistics show that 1.6 percent of the population identifies itself as gay or lesbian. But judging from the hysteria over Indiana’s religious freedom law, it seems that many of them are in positions of power in the media. These power brokers are not only openly gay, but also anti-Christian. Even Holy Week hasn’t kept them from demonstrating their anti-Christian animus.

Indiana’s Republican Governor Mike Pence spoke on Tuesday about the media misinformation over his state’s religious freedom bill. The “perception problem” he referred to is of the liberal media’s making. In fact, one can argue that the misperception was deliberately created by the media.

“I have to tell you,” he said to the press and the public, “that

“Hillary Clinton found at the rotten center of the Common Core national standards initiative”

Share

by Bob Kellogg at EAGnews.org

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A veteran educator says parents can thank Hillary Clinton for the Common Core national standards that have been thrust upon schools across the country.

Even though most people probably believe that Common Core was developed during President Barack Obama’s term in office, the foundation of the initiative goes all the way back to the 1980s, reports veteran educator and now-commentator Donna Garner.

Back then, she tells EAGnews Hillary Clinton worked with other left-leaning education reformers such as Marc Tucker of the National Committee on Education and the Economy (NCEE), Ira Magaziner and then-Gov. Mario Cuomo, known
