Many Factors Drive the Rise in Homeschooling

Share

The long list includes mass shootings, sexual indoctrination, and poor academic performance.

By Louis DeBroux · at The Patriot Post/https://patriotpost.us/articles/56395?

In 2010, Patriot Post columnist Burt Prelutsky said of our underperforming public school systems, “It’s not a school system, it’s a penal colony with report cards.” At the time, it seemed humorously hyperbolic. Today, it seems depressingly understated.

Perhaps that’s why, as The Washington Times recently reported, there has been a surge in parents turning to homeschooling.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) cancelled August recess Tuesday, saying Democrats have engaged in “historic obstruction” of nominees and legislation.

McConnell has made confirming President Donald Trump’s nominees a top priority, but has faced stiff opposition from Democrats, who have delayed dozens of political appointees. In a statement Tuesday, the majority leader said he wanted to use the recess to confirm nominees and pass appropriations bills.
