Rescuing Main Street from the fiduciary rule

Share

By Peter Hong at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

Just a few weeks ago, April 2017 was ready to deliver a crushing blow to the economic health of Main Street America. The fiduciary rule was to take effect, thereby threatening for extinction hundreds of thousands of small-brokerages and independent insurance agents. Millions of Americans who rely on commission-based brokers to manage their smaller portfolios were in danger of losing access to affordable investment advice.

Thankfully, on Feb. 3, President Donald Trump gave Middle America a reprieve by delaying for six months this relic of bureaucratic overreach by the Obama-Perez Labor Department to review the regulation. Once that review is complete, he could save the day by throwing the

Conservatives Are Flooding Town Halls, Too. I Know, I’m One of Them.

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a town hall event in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Rep. Diane Black, R-Tenn., spent about an hour offering her vision for congressional action and fielding questions.

As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and acting chair of the House Budget Committee, Black has a significant role in drafting the Obamacare repeal reconciliation bill. It was no surprise the event was packed and somewhat contentious, but contrary to what the mainstream media reported, many

A Democratic Federal Elections Commission official may have violated federal ethics laws in her quest to have President Donald Trump provide proof that voter fraud occurred in New Hampshire during the 2016 elections, experts say.

FEC Commissioner Ellen Weintraub, who has for days called on Trump to prove his claim that he and former Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte lost in New Hampshire due to voter fraud, released an official statement Feb. 10 asking Trump to substantiate the scheme.

“According to widespread news

Missouri House Proposes Bill to Define Baby as a Person and Ban Abortions

Share

By Micaiah Bilger at Life News .com

A Missouri House committee considered a bill Tuesday that would protect unborn babies from the moment of conception and ban abortions.

The bill, sponsored by state Rep. Mike Moon, R-Ash Grove, would create a ballot measure to change the state constitution to grant “personhood” rights to babies from the moment their lives begin, KRCG News reports. In doing so, it would ban abortions in Missouri.

“Missouri is the Show-Me state,” Moon said during the committee hearing. “The General Assembly recognized that life begins at conception back in 1986, and we must not stop, due to the failures or successes of other states.”

He previously said the legislation would lay the groundwork

Decline of Unions Under Right-to-Work Laws Levels Playing Field for Trump

Donald Trump prevailed where other Republican presidential candidates failed in Midwestern states in part because of new right-to-work laws that have diminished the power and influence of the teachers’ unions, according to labor policy analysts.

“Unions have been knocked silly in Wisconsin, thanks to the one-two punch of Act 10 and right-to-work,” @workerfreedom’s Matt Patterson says.

Final election results have Trump narrowly winning Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes by a margin of

Congress strikes back against Obama midnight regs

Share

By Natalia Castro at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

Congressional Republicans have made use of a 20-year old tool for success to employ this year to combat the regulatory state the Obama Administration created; the Congressional Review Act (CRA) of 1996. In its history, the CRA ha only successfully overturned one executive branch regulation, but the Republican-led congress has already used it to overturn two of Obama’s regulations, and it is ready for more.

The left’s campaign to “Bush” Trump will fail

By Lloyd Marcus at Renew America

I’ve heard that making sausage is a pretty messy, ugly and unpleasant process to witness. Well so is implementing real change in Washington DC. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I believe God gave us Trump because I do not believe a pro-politician could pull off dismantling so many Leftist sacred cow strongholds at the lighting speed at which Trump is moving.

I remember Bahamian actor Sidney Poitier saying when he came to America he simply pursued his dream, undeterred by supposed limits for blacks. Consequently in 1964, Poitier became the first black to win an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Political outsider Trump is cleaning up the mess, undeterred by corrupt
