Mueller’s legal terrorism threatens a free press

Share

By Cliff Kincaid at Renew America

President Trump’s failure to fire Russia-gate prosecutor Robert Mueller has resulted in pro-Trump journalist Jerome Corsi facing financial ruin and imprisonment as a result of Mueller’s tactics of legal terrorism. But Corsi has now made a smart move, hiring combative attorney Larry Klayman to take the fight to Mueller. Klayman may save Corsi from a frivolous prosecution, but he can’t save Trump from Mueller or impeachment.

It appears that Corsi made some of his own mistakes by associating with controversial characters such as Roger Stone and Alex Jones and perhaps attempting contact with Julian Assange of WikiLeaks. Assange was a one-time host of a Russian propaganda television show whose interviews included the

Reports: Corsi says he won’t accept a plea deal from Mueller

Conservative writer Jerome Corsi, an associate of Trump confidant Roger Stone, had previously confirmed he was in plea negotiations with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team.

Conservative author Jerome Corsi revealed Monday he plans to reject a potential deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller to plead guilty to perjury.

Corsi detailed his plans in an email to The Associated Press and statements to other news outlets.

“They can put me in prison the rest of my life,” Corsi told CNN. “I am not going to sign a lie.”

Suit: Oregon Unions Restrict Resignation

Workers’ class action suit seeks to end withdrawal limits

Oregon workers are asking a federal court to do away with policies that limit their ability to cut financial ties with labor unions.

In June, the Supreme Court ruled in Janus v. American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees that government agencies could no longer force their employees to pay union dues or fees as a condition of employment. Workers in Oregon, however, say that union contracts and policies have limited their ability to exercise those rights. The suit says that Service Employees

Fruits of College Indoctrination

Share

By Walter E. Williams · from the Patriot Post/https://patriotpost.us/opinion/59570

Much of today’s incivility and contempt for personal liberty has its roots on college campuses, and most of the uncivil and contemptuous are people with college backgrounds. Let’s look at a few highly publicized recent examples of incivility and attacks on free speech.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, were accosted and harassed by a deranged left-wing mob as they were leaving a dinner at Georgetown University. Sen. McConnell was harassed by protesters at Reagan National Airport, as well as at several venues in Kentucky. Sen. Ted Cruz and his wife were harassed at a Washington, D.C., restaurant. Afterward, a group called Smash Racism DC wrote:

Swalwell’s ‘Nukes’ comment Is Exactly Why We Have the Second Amendment

Share

by

A staunchly anti-gun California Democrat made headlines after he suggested using America’s nuclear arsenal against gun owners who refuse to hand over their hardware.

As reported at Fox News, Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., made the remark on Twitter after another user said that Swalwell wants a war with gun owners: “Because that’s what you would get” with his gun control agenda.

It’s easy to point out how insane it is that a sitting member of Congress is talking about confiscating the property of American citizens and using nukes against those who don’t comply, because it’s pretty insane. Whether or not you believe his claims of being facetious is

GUNS AND GEAR

Kerry Picket | Reporter/Daily Caller

WASHINGTON — The number of Washington D.C. concealed carry permit holders skyrocketed a little over 1440 percent since the District lost a key legal battle related to its previous restrictive gun permitting process at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia last year.

The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed to The Daily Caller Tuesday that 1,896 concealed carry permits were issued by MPD for the calendar year to date 2018.

Why Supreme Court opinions are not the ‘Law of the Land,’ and how to put federal judges in their place

Share

By Publius Huldah at Renew America

Central to the silly arguments made by the “Convention of States Project” (COSP) is their claim that 200 years of Supreme Court opinions have increased the powers of the federal government (as well as legalized practices such as abortion); that all these opinions are “the Law of the Land”; and we need an Article V convention so we can get amendments to the Constitution which take away all these powers the Supreme Court gave the federal government.

But the text of Article V contradicts COSP’s claim. Article V shows that our Constitution can be amended only when three fourths of the States ratify proposed amendments. The Supreme Court has no power to amend our Constitution.

A religion that asks us to kill for God-is no religion at all

By Michael Bresciani at Renew America

As a very young man this writer read Kahlil Gibran’s book “The Prophet” but I saw no particular significance to the book because at the time my belief in God was nearly non-existent. It was a bit quasi philosophical, but no more than that in my way of thinking.

A cursory examination of Islam in college and seminary could not prepare me for what Islam revealed about itself in the coming years ahead.

Like most Americans it was not until after the events of 9/11 that I began to dig into the basics of Islam and the Qu’ran. After seeing the call for death and pain to all those who were not Muslim in that book,
