One that wont make the headlines: Man with concealed carry permit prevents mass shooting

Saves lives of three other people, including 1-year-old

by Steve Watson at Infowars

Here’s a story that won’t make many headlines in the mainstream media, because it doesn’t neatly fit the anti-Second Amendment agenda.

An Ohio concealed carrier prevented a tragedy Sunday, as he fired upon a man who was trying to kill a woman he got into an argument with, as well as her one year old child, and innocent bystanders.

Cincinnati’s Fox19 reports that 62-year-old Thomas McCary pulled a gun on Patrick Ewing when Ewing attempted to settle a dispute between his own sister, Jeaneta Walker, and McCary.

McCary shot at Ewing three times, according to the report, prompting Ewing to pull out his own firearm, which he has

Beltway Insanity, by Ed Bender

Dear Editor,

My Knights of Columbus council volunteers to work at the Kennedy House soup kitchen to feed the homeless. At our meeting last night we were informed that anyone who volunteers there must now watch a government video detailing how not to be unkind to the homeless, and sign a roster signifying that this has been done.

What resulted in this decision? Was there a sudden outbreak of unkindness to the homeless at Kennedy House? No, actually just showing up to work there is an act of kindness toward the homeless. It turns out that the federal government subsidizes Berks County’s food bank. The nuns of Kennedy House receive food for the homeless and poor from the food bank. And, wherever there is federal

The ‘fundamental transformation’ of America’s neighborhoods

Share

by Jeannie DeAngelis at the American Thinker

America is now learning that on the painful road to ‘fundamental transformation,’ Barack Obama has plans to diversify suburbia. The president’s suburban justice plan is one where HUD tracks the racial and religious composition of American neighborhoods and then, doing away with the choice of established populations, makes changes to reflect Barack Obama’s vision for a fairer, more equitable nation.

The policy that accomplishes this progressive goal is aptly dubbed “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing” (AFFH). A 2013 FOX News article titled “Obama administration using housing department in effort to diversify neighborhoods” claims that in conjunction with the federal government HUD will remake neighborhoods using data gathered from a “discrimination database.”

In turn, “zoning laws,

A Tennessee police officer was indicted by a grand jury on charges of theft after he pocketed $6,000 from property owners who had their cars taken through civil asset forfeiture.

by Melissa Quinn from the Daily Signal

A Tennessee police officer was indicted by a grand jury on charges of theft after he pocketed $6,000 from property owners who had their cars taken through civil asset forfeiture.

An investigation from the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury’s office released last week found that Sgt. Michael Hurt, a 15-year veteran of the Morristown, Tenn., Police Department, kept more than $6,000 in cash he received from property owners whose vehicles were seized by the law enforcement agency.

According to the audit, Hurt was responsible for returning

Texas would be within its’ rights to ask if “sanctuary cities” like San Francisco can flaunt the law and pick and choose between the immigration laws they will enforce

by Norma Goss from Citizen Action

For years, San Francisco, California has proudly described itself as a “sanctuary city” – a place where illegal immigrants can live, work, educate their children and even access social safety net programs like Medicaid and food stamps to make ends meet.

This past week, San Francisco prosecutors charged Francisco Sanchez, a 45-year-old illegal immigrant with seven prior felony convictions who had been deported five times, with the murder of Kathryn Steinle, 32 as she walked with her father and a family friend on the city’s iconic Pier 14.

2016 GOP Contenders Call for Investigation of Planned Parenthood

by Kate Scanlon from the Daily Signal

After an undercover video showing a Planned Parenthood employee discussing the sale of fetal body parts was released Tuesday, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has announced that he has directed the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals to investigate allegations that Planned Parenthood is profiting from the trafficking of fetal body parts.

In a statement, Jindal, a Republican presidential candidate, said that the undercover “video of a Planned Parenthood official discussing the systematic harvesting and trafficking of human body parts is shocking and gruesome.”

“This same organization is

News: But the government still refuses to pay the lawyers’ fees and expenses that the store owner is entitled to.

by Melissa Quinn from the Daily Signal,

More than a month after dismissing a case involving a Fairmont, N.C., convenience store owner, the federal government returned the more than $100,000 it took from him last year.

But the government still refuses to pay the lawyers’ fees and expenses that the store owner is entitled to.

According to documents filed in federal court this week, the government returned the $107,702.66 it seized from L&M Convenience Mart owner Lyndon McLellan, depositing the money into the store’s bank account on June 29.

“Actions speak louder than words,” Robert Johnson, a lawyer at the Institute for Justice who represented

Impeachment called for: Congress must hold Obama accountable for his deception over Iran

Share

By lying and withholding information about the agreement, he gives aid and comfort to America’s enemy.

by Andrew C. McCarthy at the National Review and Renew America

The president “must certainly be punishable for giving false information to the Senate.” One can imagine hearing such counsel from a contemporary United States senator on the receiving end of President Obama’s “full disclosure” of the nuclear deal with Iran. But the admonition actually came from James Iredell, a champion of the Constitution’s ratification, who was later appointed to the Supreme Court by President George Washington.

Iredell was addressing the obligations the new Constitution imposed on the president in the arena of international affairs. Notwithstanding the chief executive’s broad powers to “regulate all intercourse with foreign powers,” it
