Smucker Leads Effort to Preserve New Market and Historic Tax Credits in Final Tax Reform Bill

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-16) is working to preserve two important tax credits that have a track record of jumpstarting economic activity, assisting economically depressed areas, and putting people back to work.

Rep. Smucker is leading a group of Republican lawmakers in urging House Speaker Paul Ryan and Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady to include a permanent extension of the New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) and the Federal Historic Tax Credit (HTC) in the final version of the tax reform legislation that was passed by the House and is being debated by

Should People Without Children in Public School Pay School Taxes?

Share

Written by Keely Sharp/EagleRising. Should people without children be required to pay a public school tax? How about people who have children but place them in a private school or homeschool their children; should those parents be required to pay a public school tax the they are not even using the amenity?

One Southern California man doesn’t think they should have to! He is pushing a new proposal that would allow exemption for citizens who do not have dependents enrolled in any public schools.

Not One Taxpayer Cent for Sexual Abuse

Share

By Paul Jacob at Townhall

Are you the problem?

Sure, you’d like folks to believe you’re innocent. And you can indeed blame our career politicians, experts at feathering their own nests and abusing the public trust.

Further, you might plea, in your defense, that you even favor reforms like term limits that would reduce the unaccountable power of politicians in Washington.

But still, the exploitative system — the license to abuse others — remains intact.

The particular system of abuse I refer to is the one in which members of Congress repeatedly grope, commit depraved assaults and other sexual tyrannies upon interns and staff and yet remain unaccountable . . . because taxpayers

The GOP tax bill is better than you think, but it still might result in a ‘Read my lips’ moment

By Robert Romano at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

The Republican tax cut bill is up in the Senate and it’s getting a little bit better in some areas on the individual side of things.

The $86.9 billion a year medical expenses deduction, which had been eliminated in the House version of the bill, has been restored. That deduction was taken by 8.7 million Americans in 2015, according to data compiled by the IRS, the vast majority — 6.6 million — are over the age of 55.

For Republicans, that’s good. In the 2016 CNN exit polls, President Donald Trump won among those 50 and older with about 52 percent, and among older whites, with about 60

“Policy of the People”- 80% of Obamacare Mandate Paid by Sub $50K Households

Barack Obama ran as a hero for the common American, promising “hope and change” for the nation’s downtrodden.

It’s no surprise that his signature legislation, Obamacare, was also marketed as an amazing benefit for the middle class and poor Americans.

However, a new report reveals that Obama’s true legacy should actually be taking money out of the pockets of average Americans in one of the rawest deals since Bernie Madoff.

Cotton Calls for Repealing ‘Hated’ Obamacare Individual Mandate: It’s ‘Nothing More Than a Tax’ on Working Families

BY: / the Washington Free Beacon.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) continued his calls for removing the Obamacare individual mandate as part of tax reform on Sunday, calling it the “most hated and unpopular” part of the Affordable Care Act.

Senate Republicans have included repealing the individual mandate as part of their tax reform legislation, and “Face The Nation” host John Dickerson repeated the claim that such a measure would cause 13 million people to be without health insurance.
