Around this time of year folks begin to receive in the mail multi-page glossy legislative update “newsletters” from incumbent full time state elected officials.

Many read them, many don’t. In either case, YOU pay for it. And they are very expensive. Not by coincidence, they hit your mailbox in the weeks prior to elections. And despite being billed as informative in purpose, across the state they are often carefully targeted only to registered voters. In essence using your taxpayer dollars to campaign for re-election.

CEPTA to hold PA 131st Legislative District Candidate Debate

CEPTA, the Concerned East Penn Taxpayers Association, will be holding a debate between the candidates running for the Pennsylvania 131st legislative district House of Representatives seat.

Those candidates are; Incumbent Justin Simmons, Colonel Bev Plosa-Bowswer – United States Air Force- retired, and Mayor Vicki Lightcap – the current Mayor of Pennsburg.

The debate will be held on March 20th, beginning at 7:30pm. It will be held at the Emmaus Fire Hall at Sixth and Broad Streets, Emmaus, PA.

The Concerned East Penn Taxpayers Association, CEPTA, will be holding a debate between the Republican candidates running for the Republican nomination for the 131st Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives seat.

The 3 candidates participating are incumbent Justin Simmons, Colonel Bev Plosa-Bowser, USAF, retired, and Pennsburg mayor Vicki Lightcap.
