COOPERSBURG – In his continuing effort to stay in touch with constituents, Rep. Justin Simmons (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) is hosting a town hall meeting on Thursday, May 4, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Coopersburg Borough Hall, 5 N. Main St. The doors open at 6 p.m.

It’s really a no-win situation: chemical weapons attributed to the Assad regime in Syria are used against a civilian population, and all the world’s eyes turn to the United States to set an example. What was President Trump to do? She will speak on her experiences in challenging the gerrymandered legislative redistricting proposed by the state legislature after the last Federal census. Holt’s challenge to the legislature’s redistricting scheme went to the State Supreme Court where the court sided with Holt and threw out the legislature’s proposed redistricting plan. WHERE? Few Lehigh County residents know that the county is a sanctuary county. Many, including some Commissioners, have argued that sanctuary status was untrue, just a rumor. Well now, not only is the county listed by CIS, (Center for Immigration Studies) but it is also listed by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).Other than the obvious problem that the county will release into the community, criminal aliens who have deportation status, the county stands to lose millions in federal tax money.
