Is Iran deal part of Obama-3rd-term scheme?

Share

by Alan KeyesIn

In an article published earlier this week, I discuss U.S. House Speaker John Boehner’s incredibly late awakening to “the boldness of the Iranians.” I highlight the fact that this “belated recognition of ‘the boldness of the Iranians’ is not accompanied by an honest acknowledgment of the boldness of Obama’s treasonous betrayals of the constitutional self-government of the American people.” I go on to suggest that Mr. Boehner has self-interested reasons for this continued blindness. But self-interest isn’t the only reason people remain blind to the greatest dangers threatening them.

People are unlikely to anticipate cataclysmic events because of the stubborn human tendency to look away from what is too painful to think upon. For example, when it came to

Pain Makes Life Endurable

Share

By John McCartney

The movie, “Tea House of the August Moon” (1956) opens with Marlo Brando, playing Sakini, an Okinawan native, sitting cross legged on the ground, leaning against a palm tree. He gives a short history of Okinawa, a Pacific island, which has been invaded a number of times over its history by military units of foreign nations. He describes how those invasions caused pain for the island’s inhabitants, and finishes saying, “Pain make man think. Thought make man wise. And wisdom make life endurable”. That phrase caught my attention and over the years, during my musings, I have found myself mentally revisiting that scene of the movie and Sakini’s monologue. His statement regarding the relationship of pain, thought, and wisdom was

“Hillary Clinton found at the rotten center of the Common Core national standards initiative”

Share

by Bob Kellogg at EAGnews.org

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A veteran educator says parents can thank Hillary Clinton for the Common Core national standards that have been thrust upon schools across the country.

Even though most people probably believe that Common Core was developed during President Barack Obama’s term in office, the foundation of the initiative goes all the way back to the 1980s, reports veteran educator and now-commentator Donna Garner.

Back then, she tells EAGnews Hillary Clinton worked with other left-leaning education reformers such as Marc Tucker of the National Committee on Education and the Economy (NCEE), Ira Magaziner and then-Gov. Mario Cuomo, known

Contention between Lehigh County Commissioners and Executive (Mr. Pinocchio)

Share

An act of INSUBORDINATION? It seems Executive Muller told his staff not to give the budget info to the Commissioners.

At last night’s Lehigh County Commissioners meeting, Executive Muller, or as he’s also known, Mr. Pinocchio, finally graced the Commissioners with his presence. This was most likely due to the Commissioners’ unanimous vote at their previous meeting that the County administration present a County Budget to the full Commission and make it available to the public by March 25th.

We refer to the County Executive as Mr. Pinocchio because he actually called the Commissioners by that name first, and as it turns out, he seems to be the one with truth issues.

What was heard under direct

Hey Executive Muller, who’s the real Pinocchio?

Share

Photo by April Bartholomew/The Morning Call

It seems that the Lehigh County Commissioners have once again proved that the description County Executive Muller used to refer to the Commissioners, “the full Pinocchio”, as stated to another newspaper, is one that seems to fit Mr. Muller himself and to a T.

When you have two different meetings, on two different subjects, with two different votes, and all 9 of the Commissioners consisting of both political parties unanimously agree on their votes, then it stands to reason that Muller must be the problem, not the Commissioners. No matter what he thinks and says.

Sorry Mr. Executive Muller, sir, that’s just a 9 against 1 fact.

What was the reason for these two contentious votes? Well,

A Different Take on the State of Lehigh County Address

Share

Express-Times File Photo | COLIN MCEVOY

by Commissioner Lisa Scheller

Less than 24 hours removed from calling the Board of Commissioners “Pitiful,” Tom Muller continued his attacks during his so-called “State of the County Address”. In reality it was nothing more than a political speech aimed at electing Democrat commissioners who will do his bidding. Tom Muller’s Thursday morning statements about his relationship with the Board of Commissioners and the County’s financial health were contradictory, much like most of his actions and statements during his brief tenure as county executive. While speaking about his relationship with Commissioners, he stated, “I have offered to re-establish bi-partisan meetings but excluding one commissioner for trust reasons that I have explained to him.” Then, just moments later,

East Penn resident seeks to recover taxpayer funds spent on possible illegal acts

Share

A resident in East Penn School District has filed for a “Surcharge” audit with the Auditor of East Penn School District to recover taxpayer funds believed to have been spent on illegal actions.

According to Pennsylvania law, taxpayers may file a request to have expenditures reviewed by the appropriate Auditor, and if the expenditures are found to be inappropriate in their use, then those with fiduciary responsibility can be made to repay the taxpayers for the funds inappropriately expended.

This request stems from the illegal burial, ordered by Administrators of East Penn School District, of hazardous waste at Wescosville Elementary School property. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) it is “Unlawful to dispose of any waste at a facility or site that
