Hobby Lobby to close all stores in 500 locations in 41 states

Share

Hello, With over 500 locations in 41 states, Hobby Lobby is one of the most popular stores in America . However, the brand has become controversial in the last few years since it refuses to back down from its strong Christian beliefs. Liberals have been trying to shut down Hobby Lobby for years, but the chain has always remained strong: until now. According to American News, Hobby Lobby founder and CEO David Green just released an open letter explaining that he may need to close all of his stores. Here’s the full letter: When my family and I started our company 40 years ago, we were working out of a garage on a $600 bank loan, assembling miniature

Letter to Editor Regarding Conduct of Senator Killion at his July 27 Town Hall Meeting

Although legislators’ Town Hall meetings should enable constituents to share their concerns in a free and open forum, the opposite was true for Senator Tom Killion’s (R-9th PA District) Town Hall on July 27. Dozens of attendees at that meeting witnessed his blatant and inexcusable attempt to selectively silence discussions related to his strong support of Pennsylvania’s ill-advised “bathroom bills.” It is a fact that Senator Killion has been a sponsor and/or strong proponent of bills that would force our public schools to allow transgender students to use facilities in accordance with their perceived gender identities – if the students choose to do so. If passed,

The first step to Save the Nation

Dear Editor,

I received a challenge coin a few days ago and this is how it went. I was enjoying an American Honey with my wife and a few friends at my local American Legion Hall. Post 9 Palmer, Pa. My friend Rick was in the Air Force and like myself an avid hunter. We spend a lot of time together chasing the Whitetail when the snow falls. We love to rise to the challenge, we hunt deer.

As it usually is, at the Legion there was a small smattering of veterans to jaw with, some new friends to meet and beers bought in respect for each other’s service and friendship. One of the fellows from

Time to stop PA laws protecting gender identity

Share

To the Lehigh Valley Commentator,

Currently, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act guarantees protection from discrimination in the areas of employment, housing and public accommodation based on sex, race, color, age, ancestry, non-job related handicap, national origin, familial status and religious creed.

Under the guise of “fairness,” our legislators in Harrisburg may soon be voting on bills that would add “gender identity” and “gender expression” to the list of protected classes for discrimination in Pennsylvania. The original Senate Bill 974 has now been split into three bills, SB1306 (employment), 1307 (housing) and 1316 (public accommodation) to try to make it more palatable. On Aug. 30 our senators will be holding hearings to debate SB1306, taking time and resources away from important issues.

Dear Editor: Critical Issues in this Election

Hillary Clinton U.S. Supreme Court Donald Trump Dear Editor, Hi Folks Some of us have been saying that this election is not about the presidency but it’s about the Supreme Court. Please read the link below titled “Clinton’s Court, legal analysts say gun rights and more at stake in November”. Also extremely important. There was a ruling yesterday that the Supreme Court blocks ruling that lets transgender Virginia student use boys bathroom. Some may consider this a victory, it’s only a temporary stay on the lower courts ruling that allows transgenders in the bathroom. Justice Breyer was the Swing Vote in the 5-3 decision and in his statement he said he was agreeing to the stay as a courtesy because

3 Berks GOP officials resign citing Trump

Share

Lehigh Valley Commentator Editor,

Officials Fielding, Cinfici and Kurtz resigned from GOP. Two of them have been political operatives for years at times on government payrolls. One would think that would leave them with an understanding that Trump is not the problem, the GOP is. The ground swell of disgruntled Republicans is the backlash from the GOP electing candidates that abandoned their own party’s principles of constitutional conservative government. The voters finally get it.

Leaving the party does not solve anything short of satisfying a few egos.

Trump says he will attack the plethora of existing problems. He’s beholden only to voters accepted no money from special interest.

For example, Pennsylvania is a microcosm of the national problem. The GOP had control
