Letter Writer Warns of Red Light Cameras

Share

To all Camera Promoters and Innocent Motorists in Pennsylvania:

Friendly reminder: 2018 is an election year. Take heed.

If logic decided policy in Harrisburg, state spending would be low, the budget would be balanced, the benefits of regulations would exceed the costs, and policymakers would guard against unintended consequences. Unfortunately, Pennsylvania government is largely impervious to logic, and the tragic results are obvious for all to see. Nowhere has this been more destructive than in the area of highway safety.

Consequences are the truest test of any policy. Around the world, speed cameras increase accidents, injuries and deaths. So Senate Bill 172 is a failure before it’s passed. Yet some in the Legislature charge on because of all the money to be

Letter Writer asks if our State Legislators are Junking our E-mails?

Your State Reps Junking Your Emails

By Arthur Herring III,

President Dektor Corporation

For almost the past three months, I have been sending emails to the personnal email addresses of the 250 state senators and represenatives of Pennsylvania. It was about a massive scam involving a extremely unreliable “voice lie detector” being sold only to law enforcement types (police, sheriff, district attorneys, college police prisons, probation, etc) in Pennsylvania and nationwide since 1990. As of 2007, about 50 police departments and 6 district attorney offices, just in Pennsylvania, have the device called cvsa. The seller, in Florida, uses former high level police to be his “sales staff”. The seller of this so-called “voice lie detector” only sells to law enforcement

Tom Caltagirone

Editor:

I feel it incumbent upon myself to make a statement re: the ‘Me Too’ Sexual Harassment

allegations being made thruout the country, particularly those made against Tom Caltagirone,

State Representative for the 127th Legislative District of Penna. I’ve known Tom for several years

and have nothing but respect for his willingness to help anyone, and his hard work

in Penna Government for 40 years. He has offered help for me and my family in the past and

crosses party lines to assist anyone in need. He does this within the legislature also.

I do believe that many Sexual Harassment allegations are true, but once you are accused

you are presumed guilty and will carry that for the rest of your life (unless

My Thoughts on the #WomensMarch

By Carla D’Addesi

My Thoughts on the #WomensMarch ,

January 21, 2018

You don’t represent me. You don’t represent my daughters, my friends, and most of my community. Reviewing and reflecting on yesterday’s “March for Women,” I have to ask myself why this happened. The majority of the protestors’ messages were of hatred toward men, especially older, white men and hatred of President Trump. Signs with vulgar and hateful messages abound. Some signs were hand-made but many were mass produced suspiciously reeking of financial backing by powerful groups. Photos of the crowds in various cities were often recycled photos from the 2017 protests the day after President Trump’s

Letter Writer speaks on Former Secret Service Agent’s take on FISA Memo and more

Share

Folks,

Remember when you go to the polls in South Carolina- Senator Lindsey Graham (R), Utah-Senator Mike Lee(R), Kentucky Senator Rand Paul(R), they should

not get your vote, as you are aware they voted for the government shut down. Do they realize the American people voted them in. We also know that Senator Jeff

Flake-Arizona (R) voted for the shutdown, he is not running again. Keep praying for America folks, and make those phones calls to your Legislators to allow the FISA

Memo be released to the American people.

Letter Writer warns of PA Senate Bills 172 and 251

To All Pennsylvania Drivers:

This letter is a speed limit tutorial.

Tell your Senator and Representative to VOTE NO on PA Senate Bill 172, authorizing speed cameras in work zones and VOTE NO on PA Senate Bill 251, giving RADAR to municipal police departments.

The object of speed cameras and RADAR is not the facilitation of safe, efficient travel but rather the issuance of as many tickets as possible.

First, officials impose deliberately unrealistic, under-posted speed limits on most roads in order to frustrate and criminalize virtually all drivers all the time. To make driving an unpleasant, slow-motion grind.

The law in Pennsylvania requires that posted speed limits be set according to something called the “85th percentile” standard. This is a traffic safety

The News Media Past and Present

Share

By Jerold Levine

Many people today are objecting to how the American news media has become partisan, using phrases like “we’ve never seen” or “never before.” The “we’ve never seen” is true. The “never before” is inaccurate, and a result of historical myopia. Like the young who, in each generation, think that they are the first to have discovered sex, we can misperceive that the past extends only as far back as we can remember. Not only has America seen the kind of rabid media partisanship we have today, it has in fact been the norm for most of our history.

Newspaper articles from the Revolution through the early twentieth century disclose the hyper-partisanship of the press. As example, Founding Fathers accused

Pennsylvania Liberty Alliance President Answers Commonwealth Foundation Report

PA Liberty Alliance President, Ron Boltz answers Commonwealth Foundation.

Jennifer,

I understand the “cheer leading” aspect of this email, and I don’t fault your organization for making a loss look like a win. Indeed, I believe running this vote was a “win” as well, but probably for different reasons. I don’t expect victories every time and I’m glad this vote took place.

That being said, what is frustrating to those of us who pay close attention and are heavily involved in politics is the continued glorification by CF of House leadership. With a failure to get 26 “republicans” to vote for such a simple concept (and word has it many more were prepared to vote “no” to protect the unions if need be
