Boyertown School Director Writes Us on School Security

Share

Another school shooting: On Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Great Mills High School in St. Mary’s County Maryland, we had another school shooting! Austin Wyatt Rollins began shooting at students when an armed resource officer inside Great Mills High School responded to the attack by engaging the attacker with his gun. The attack ended very quickly with the only fatality being the 17-year old attacker Austin Wyatt Rollins. It is unclear whether the attacker killed himself or was killed by the resource officer. Either way, this attack ended because the armed resource officer was there. In Boyertown, we need to be focused on a complete security approach. As with all other “gun free zones” there are always trained people equipped with firearms

Former United States Ambassador Ellen Sauerbrey writes us

Dear Lehigh Valley Commentator,

From Ellen Sauerbrey

Baltimore is just part of a national trend of large urban Democrat cities that use taxpayer funds to protect illegal aliens (future Democrats) from deportation. So the deadliest city in America, that looks to the state for a large chunk of its budget, places a priority on protecting illegals and sending students to DC for a political protest. As one of those state taxpayers that helps to fund Baltimore, I suggest they use my money to heat their schools and improve public safety!

Re Eagle article March 16, 2018

As the moderator of the past two meetings of the Berks County Patriots with gubernatorial candidates Scott Wagner and Paulk Mango, the most contentious issue that prompted the lead headline for the article was who is the strongest prolife candidate? With all due respect that Senator Wagner is obligated to defend the legislation he supported, Mango has no track record to defend. What is clear is that both candidates are implying by their ads that neither is forthright in their position.

My point is, while prolife may reflect the character of a candidate, this dwarfs the issues facing the state. In fact, if the legislature does not submit a bill for the governor’s signature, it

Use P word, Not L Word

By Arthur Herring III

Every time there is a tragedy, people start talking about making new laws. I call laws the “L” word. Instead, talk about punishment, the “P” word. After the recent school shooting in Florida, those school students are demanding new laws on gun control. No surprise that they are being used and pushed by the anti gun nuts. It was stated by a few students themselves that in a town hall meeting, hosted by CNN (Communist News Network), that CNN gave them the questions CNN wanted them to ask. I guess CNN did not think those know it all students could think of questions for themselves.

We must remember: Dead is Dead. The

Let California Leave?

Let California Leave the USA

There has been much talk about California, that almost socialist state, voting to become a separate country. Great! I hope they do become a separate country. The moment they do become a new country, the USA should invade it. After the USA wins, since California has no army and they hate guns, we should confiscate all of its assets: property, banks, oil fields, houses and businesses, especially the liberal ones Apple and Microsoft. We should especially take the multi million dollar mansions of all the liberal actors, actresses, entertainers, sports players, politicians and others. Nancy Pelosi, Oprah Winfrey and Maxine Waters would lose their multi million dollar mansions. We would then resell those assets to the private

President Donald Trump

1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW

Washington, D.C. 20500

Dear Mr. President:

President Trump, you have excellent persuasive abilities and credibility within our political party, both hold strong beliefs against Christian attacks. As United States citizens, we need to hold our government, law enforcement agencies, and courts accountable – especially our judicial system.

God is sovereign in all things. He has chosen you to work on behalf of the people of the United States of America – and Christians – to preserve the free exercise of religion which is being threatened. If we, as Christians, who have been blessed with such freedom by the very hand of God, do nothing to stop these

The Good Farmer

Just as the good farmer knows he must prepare his field to obtain a bountiful harvest. So to must a society prepare its field to obtain the best of its citizenry.

Five basic ingredients required of a society to achieve this goal. First, you must establish justice. Without justice a fair society is impossible! Second, domestic tranquility must be insured, without peace anarchy rules. Third, a common defense is required—there is strength in numbers. Fourth, you must promote the general welfare. If one suffers disaster, all come to his aid! Fifth, the blessings of liberty must be preserved for ourselves and our posterity. When a good and moral people accomplish these tasks, you will have endorsed and established the

Letter Writer answers Republican Solicitation Letter

Laura,

You’re trying to tell me that Jake Corman and Dave Reed will stand up against tax increases?

After watching Corman say increasing taxes is “good leadership” (or something very close to that) and knowing full well that our Republican “leadership” negotiates behind closed doors and leaves their own members in the dark, I cannot agree with your blank statement that “republicans” will stand and fight.

And yes, they can do it alone as they are in the majority. They don’t need my donation to do so. When they can deliver REAL pension reform, school property tax elimination, paycheck protection and REAL school choice, then I’ll donate.

I would also be remiss if I didn’t also mention the ballooning budgets of the
