Raising Minimum Starting Wages to $15 per Hour Would Eliminate Seven Million Jobs

Share

By James Sherk at The Daily Signal/Heritage Foundation

James Sherk Research Fellow, Labor Economics Center for Data Analysis

Prominent Members of Congress have proposed raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour, more than doubling the federal minimum wage. States with lower costs of living would see an even greater real increase. At the state level, the minimum wage would cover one-third of wage and salary workers. The new minimum-wage legislation, including payroll taxes and the employer mandate, would increase the minimum cost of hiring a full-time worker to $18.61 per hour.

Businesses would respond to these higher labor costs by reducing employment of affected workers by over one-sixth, thus eliminating approximately seven million full-time-equivalent (FTE) jobs by 2021.

Give me a D, for disunity

By Robert Romano at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

So, Ted Cruz showed up at the Republican National Convention, refused to endorse Donald Trump — and got summarily booed off the stage.

Fast forward just a few days, and Bernie Sanders spoke to his supporters at the Democratic National Convention during afternoon proceedings on Monday, endorsed Hillary Clinton — and got loudly booed.

So, which party really has a unity problem?

Donald Trump walks away from the Cleveland convention, with #NeverTrump defeated, and his party united. He even got a bump in the polls, and now leads nationally against Hillary Clinton.

How Other Nations Stop US From Deporting Criminal Illegal Immigrants

Thousands of illegal immigrants with criminal convictions have been released from custody because they can’t be repatriated to their home countries. (Photo: Peggy Peattie/ZUMA Press/Newscom)

Susanna Ruth Makinson can blame a lot of things for why her then-husband was shot dead eight years ago while patrolling the streets of Fort Myers, Florida, the first time since 1930 a police officer had been gunned down in the city.

That’s because, in a distant way out of her—and his—control, Andrew Widman’s death felt preventable; his killer, Abel Arango, was an illegal immigrant and convicted felon who was released from detention because his native Cuba wouldn’t take

67 percent of federal judges will be Democrat by the end of Hillary’s first term

Share

By Robert Romano at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

Thinking of staying home this November? Don’t think it will matter? Still sore over the primary?

Consider these disquieting facts. Since 1952, U.S. presidents have nominated and had confirmed an average of 163 federal judges, including 1.6 Supreme Court Justices, every 4 years.

Of the 853 currently seated federal judges according to data compiled by the Federal Judicial Center, the current partisan composition of the federal courts including district and circuit courts of appeals is 54 percent to 46 percent in favor of Democrats.

113 out of 165 oldest judges currently on the courts born on or before 1946 were appointed by Republicans. Meaning, if the 165 average

The Clinton-Mezvinksy-Soros Connection

by Staff at The Patriots-http://www.newpatriotsblog.com/news/the-clinton-mezvinksy-connection/

Edward Mezvinsky was born January 17, 1937.

Then you’ll probably say, “Who is Ed Mezvinsky?” Well, he is a former Democrat congressman who represented Iowa’s 1st congressional district in the United States House of Representatives for two terms, from 1973 to 1977. He sat on the House Judiciary Committee that decided the fate of Richard Nixon. He was outspoken saying that Nixon was a crook and a disgrace to politics and the nation and should be impeached. He and the Clintons were friends and very politically intertwined for many years.Ed Mezvinsky had an affair with NBC News reporter Marjorie Sue Margolies and later married her after his wife divorced him.In 1993, Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, then a freshman Democrat

Nate Silver shows the only poll that matters is November

Share

By Robert Romano at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

Statistician Nate Silver gave Donald Trump a 57.5 percent chance of winning the election if it had been held on Monday after a post-convention bounce in polls, according to fivethirtyeight.com.

Yet, just a month ago, he had Hillary Clinton winning the election with an 80 percent probability. Then, Trump had only a 20 percent chance of winning.

Well, apparently a lot can change in a month.

Like, the polls, which have dramatically turned around in the wake of Trump’s successful nominating convention in Cleveland, Ohio.

Silver’s model is based pretty much on the latest polls. So, if the polls still have Trump ahead by, say, Labor Day, one expects

From Russia with Love

Share

By Robert Romano at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

The last thing the Hillary Clinton campaign can want to talk about in the middle of her convention is whether Russia has all of her deleted classified emails from her private server she was never supposed to have. The one she almost got indicted over.

Yet, that is precisely the narrative Democrats’ gambit to blame the Democratic National Committee (DNC) leaked emails on Russia — and Donald Trump — has caused.

For days, Democrat officials have accused Trump of colluding with the Russians on the DNC emails which appeared on Wikileaks.com over the weekend. Even of committing illegal espionage by appearing at a press conference. First Amendment, anyone
