Breck Dumas/theblaze New Jersey South Orange Maplewood School Board member Stephanie Lawson-Muhammad has drawn criticism over her treatment of a police officer after she was given a citation for speeding.

Study: Electric Cars Actually Increase Pollution

Share

An in-depth study found that, contrary to widespread belief, zero-emissions vehicles actually increase the amount of pollution that is emitted into the atmosphere.

The Manhattan Institute published “Short Circuit: The High Cost of Electric Vehicle Subsidies,” a report that analyzes the cost of electric automobiles and their effectiveness to clean the environment.

Jonathan Lesser, the president of Continental Economics and author of the study, which was published Tuesday, collected various data to estimate the overall impact of such vehicles.

Gold Should be Viewed as Money–Not as an Investment Instrument

On May 4 and 5, 2018, Warren E. Buffett (born 1930) and Charles T. Munger (born 1924), both already legends during their lifetime, held the annual shareholders’ meeting of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Approximately 42,000 visitors gathered in Omaha, Nebraska, to attend the star investors’ Q&A session.

Peoples’ enthusiasm is understandable: From 1965 to 2017, Buffett’s Berkshire share achieved an annual average return of 20.9 percent (after tax), while the S&P 500 returned only 9.9 percent (before taxes). Had you invested in Berkshire in 1965, today you would be pleased to see a total return of 2,404,784 percent: an investment of USD 1,000 turned into more than USD 24 million (USD 24,048,480, to be exact).

House Passes Bipartisan Smucker Bill to Help Veterans Transition to Civilian Life

Washington, D.C. – Today the House passed U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker’s (PA-16) bipartisan legislation to help veterans transition to civilian life. Rep. Smucker’s VA Billing Accountability Act passed the House unanimously and would relieve veterans of financial burdens caused by delays at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

“Our nation’s service men and women should not have to pay for delays or errors made by the VA,” said Rep. Smucker. “They and their families have sacrificed so much in defense of our great nation. We should be doing all we can to make their transition to civilian life as easy as possible, and this

House Passes Smucker-Supported Bipartisan Prison Reform Legislation

Washington, D.C. – Today the House passed the FIRST STEP Act – bipartisan legislation cosponsored by U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-16) to lower recidivism rates and help individuals convicted of nonviolent crimes reenter society. The FIRST STEP Act would introduce evidence-based programming in prisons to better equip federal inmates to successfully reenter society after their sentences are served.

“Nonviolent prisoners deserve a second chance to be productive members of society,” said Rep. Smucker. “Offering better programming in our federal correctional facilities will help former inmates reenter society with lower rates of recidivism and will help reduce the financial burden on our correctional system.

OBAMA CAUGHT RED HANDED IN A BAIT AND SWITCH IN PERSONAL MUSEUM SCHEME

The headlines are usually about some new scandal Obama is apart of, or his poorly executed plans during his presidency that are barely coming to the surface. Now the former president has been caught red handed in a “bait and switch” in personal museum scandal.

His new plan is to snatch some public land right from under the noses of the people of Chicago. Obama wants to create a Presidential Library in the Public Park Land.

Trump, Republicans Changing Lower Courts for the Better

President Donald Trump understands there’s only one way to protect his administration’s progress: confirming men and women to the bench who respect and uphold the law. (Photo: Zolnierek/Getty Images)

COMMENTARY BY

Tony Perkins is president of the Family Research Council.

If all Donald Trump did with these four years was balance the courts, his presidency would still be a success. Lucky for us, he’s got his sights set on a lot more than that—and a pile of accomplishments to prove it.

But in an age when more decisions are being snatched out of his hands and put in the courts’,

State and Local Nullification Drives Change in D.C.

By

I frequently say “Washington D.C. will never fix America’s problems. Washington D.C. is America’s problem!”

People often take that to mean I don’t think we can fix America’s problems. That’s not the case. I just believe that instead of focusing on D.C., we need to start with change at the local and state level. From there, it will filter up to Washington D.C.

We’re beginning to see this strategy pay off when it comes to marijuana policy. After more than two decades of state, local and individual nullification, the federal government’s unconstitutional prohibition of cannabis is beginning to come apart at the seams.

Despite ongoing attempts to enforce federal prohibition, 21 states and Washington
