Sarah Taylor STAFF WRITER/theblaze If you’re a gun-owning Pennsylvania resident, the Pennsylvania State Police are urging you to turn in your firearms if you are seeking medical marijuana cards. Sorry, what?

Renters Win in Tax Law; Dems Lie About It

Share

Betsy McCaughey/gopusa Renters came out winners under the new tax law. For over a century, the federal tax code catered to homeowners and treated renters like second-class citizens. Homeowners have been able to deduct interest on their mortgages and home equity loans, as well as property taxes. Meanwhile, everyone, including renters, footed the bill for these deductions by paying higher rates. The new tax law at last begins leveling the playing field between renters and homeowners.

Millions of New Yorkers and Californians reap the benefits, because these states have among the lowest rates of homeownership in the nation, and renting is common. So ignore the hyperventilating from Democratic politicians that tax reform is a gift to the rich.

Wagner Launches ‘Scissors Out’ Website to Identify Excessive Regulations

HARRISBURG – Senator Scott Wagner (R-York) launched a website, SenatorScottWagner.com/ScissorsOut, where Pennsylvanians affected by excessive regulations can report those regulations.

“One of the biggest concerns I hear about our future is Pennsylvania’s obstructive regulatory environment that continues to stymie job growth,” Wagner said.

Senator Wagner said he created the new website page to solicit input from local residents and small business owners most harmed by excessive regulation. “I want to learn which mandates hurt Pennsylvanians more than they help, and I want to hear it directly from the people.”

Senator Mike Folmer Column: Informed Consent

Share

The ability to make decisions about what goes into our bodies is a basic human right. This personal autonomy is challenged whenever government requires mandatory vaccinations. Indeed, sticking needles into a human body is the very definition of intrusive.

For this reason, I am introducing “Informed Consent” legislation to require patients and parents be given information before they consent to vaccinations. Consistent with my successful medical cannabis initiative, I believe all medical decisions should be between a patient and their physician – including the right to informed consent or informed refusal in the use of vaccines.

I am also introducing a Resolution calling upon Congress to repeal the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act. This federal law prevents those harmed
