Pennsylvania is Still in the Bottom Twenty for Business Tax Climate

Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania Pennsylvania is Still in the Bottom Twenty for Business Tax Climate

Every year tax dollars are used to bribe businesses to come to or stay in Pennsylvania. The General Assembly, the Governor, and local governments may call it “economic development” but it’s another version of engaging in central planning for economic growth. Based on lackluster job growth, and an ever-dwindling population you would think that our elected officials would have learned their lesson after fifty years of failure; they haven’t.

For evidence of their failure, look no further than the Commonwealth’s rank in terms of overall business tax climate. According to the Tax Foundation’s latest analysis, Pennsylvania ranks thirty-fourth out of the fifty states for business taxes. An

Pennsylvania admits to 11,000 non-citizens registered to vote

Washington Times

Top Pennsylvania lawmakers say state officials have admitted to finding names of 11,198 non-citizens registered to vote on the state’s rolls — though the lawmakers suspect the number could still be higher.

Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration turned the numbers over to the state legislature earlier this month, after ceding a long battle to block the information’s release.

The 11,198 names the state found are less than an earlier estimate of 100,000 names, though they still represent a sizable chunk of people who could have cast illegal ballots in elections, and gone without detection.

“I believe that we need to take action and have those people removed immediately from the rolls. They were never eligible to vote,” said state Rep. Daryl

Update from Aaron Bernstine

Friends,

I wanted to provide you with an update of events that have happened over the previous few months, as well as describe legislation that I will be introducing in the near future. Most importantly, I wanted you to know that I am always here (whether you live in my district or not) to hear your ideas of how we can make our area a better place.

On January 7th, I spoke at a pro-2nd Amendment rally in downtown Pittsburgh. This rally was organized in response to the Mayor and City Council of Pittsburgh proposing ordinances that would introduce severe firearm restrictions on law-abiding citizens. These restrictions would violate Pennsylvania law as well as the Pennsylvania Constitution, as has been stated by the District

Argall bill cracking down on illegal movers receives national attention

HARRISBURG – A law authored by Senator David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill) to protect consumers against illegal household goods movers received national attention today in a special report on CBS This Morning.

The law, Act 77 of 2017, strengthened penalties against rogue movers who pose as legitimate, licensed professionals. Many of the illegal movers fail to get necessary insurance and permits or pay worker’s compensation or taxes, resulting in dangers to both consumers and employees of the unlawful business.

“Illegal movers create a great deal of damage and suffering so it is encouraging to see this issue get the nationwide attention it deserves,” Argall said. “Pennsylvania is leading
