After facing significant resistance from parents, a school board in Northern Virginia has decided to temporarily suspend the implementation of new regulations for accommodating transgender and gender nonconforming students.

“Fairfax County Public Schools will keep handling transgender student matters with privacy and dignity in the way they always have…case-by-case, which is exactly what we wanted them to do in the first place,” Fairfax County School Board member Elizabeth Schultz told The Daily

Pennsylvania Liberty Alliance VP Addresses CEPTA on Political Ways to Pass School Real Estate Tax Elimination!

Share

Ron Boltz, the Vice-President of the Pennsylvania Liberty Alliance and former Pine Grove School Board member addressed the Concerned East Penn Taxpayers Association on Tuesday, May 17th. Mr. Boltz’s group has been leading the charge to see a re-vote on SB76 the School Real Estate Tax Elimination Act. Last November, the PA Senate voted 24 to 24 on this Act with Lt. Governor Stack casting the tie breaking no vote. The PLA has been hard at work at getting a second vote on that issue.

Here is the video of Ron Boltz presentation:

Governor Wolf’s Budget Games

By LVC Staff

PA Capitol Building Gov. Tom Wolf

Governor Tom Wolf is considered by many to be America’s most liberal Governor. Last year he vetoed a balanced budget that the legislature presented him. That balanced budget had major increases in education spending and other areas that the Governor wanted. However, Governor Wolf wanted a record increase in spending and taxes. The Republican controlled legislature found this to be unacceptable. Later the legislature presented a compromise budget with no tax increases that Governor Wolf line-item vetoed. Wolf cut the six billion dollar education line-item in half threatening school districts all across the state with closure. In fact, the Governor’s office sent out a check

Property Taxes and the Recent Budget-What next??

Most of you know by now that Governor Wolf has reluctantly stated that he will not sign the recent bill to finalize the ’15-’16 budget into law, but he won’t veto it either, which means it will still become law. The Governor did not sound happy when he delivered this news, and for good reason. He is not getting his massive tax increases that he’s been trying to get by holding your children and school district hostage. His plan backfired, and it’s important to understand why.

Throughout the budget talks, those of us who have been advocating for school property tax

Pennsylvania Senator David Argall

Argall: Budget winners include taxpayers, schools, ag programs, hospitals, counties

HARRISBURG – Senator David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill/Berks) released the following statement in response to the governor allowing the state budget proposal to automatically become law:

“School districts, vital agriculture programs, hospitals and counties can breathe a collective sigh of relief with today’s news that the governor will allow the state budget to automatically become law on March 27. Most importantly, this final budget does not increase taxes on Pennsylvanians, which has been the overwhelming concern of residents from Berks and Schuylkill Counties. While there are some loose ends to finalize, including the governor’s veto of reimbursement for school district construction, this is

How an illegal immigrant lied about his identity and age and embedded himself among PA children. By Michael Cutler at Front Page Magazine

A series of recent disturbing news reports have focused on an alleged illegal alien, Artur Samarin, a citizen of the Ukraine who reportedly entered the United States with a non-immigrant visa. He apparently decided that rather than return to his native country, as required under the terms of his lawful admission into the United States, he would create a fictitious identity in the name of Asher Potts and then enroll in a high school in Harrisburg, PA in the fall of 2012 where he subsequently studied for four years.
