AP

Elizabeth Harrington is a staff writer for the Washington Free Beacon.

The federal government has imposed a new major regulation every three days since President Barack Obama took office, as the administration has shattered the record for implementing regulations costing the economy $100 million or more.

The Obama administration has now issued 600 major regulations, the center-right policy institute the American Action Forumnoted in a recent report.

“One year ago, the American Action Forum (AAF) celebrated a regulatory milestone, of sorts: 500 major regulations,” wrote Sam Batkins, director of regulatory policy. “A major regulation has an

Consumer Optimism Is Not the Key to Economic Growth

Share

By at Mises.org

Most experts regard consumer’s psychological disposition as the driving force of an economy. If consumers are optimistic and happy with the economy, no recession can occur — so it is believed. According to the popular way of thinking, if consumers are active, this is said to be a good sign for economic health. If consumers do not spend enough then it is seen as bad news. Indeed surveys of business activity show that during a recession, businesses emphasize a lack of consumer demand as the major factor behind their poor performances.

In the real world, consumer optimism is important, but by itself it will achieve nothing. Production must precede consumption. It is necessary to produce useful goods

Pa. Will Be Vital For A Trump Win

Share

From the Lehigh Valley Tea Party-Second Amendment Committee Newsletter

The 2016 Presidential race is likely to turn on Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania, according to a www.chicagonow.com article.

Crooked Clinton’s selection of Virginia Senator Tim Kaine as her VP nominee was designed to button down her lead in Virginia, making Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio decisive. Kaine is also there to nail down the Florida Hispanic vote with his cultural and linguistic Spanish edge and then attract Ohio and Pennsylvania Catholic working class voters with Kaine’s home spun country style and Catholic religion, according to the write-up.

But Patriot Trump, on the other hand, used his VP choice – Indiana Gov. Mike Pence –to nail down traditional conservative and other Republican voters.

TPP path to lame duck passage grows murky

Share

By Rick Manning at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

U.S. Rep. Candace Miller (R-Mich.) released a letter on August 1 signed by five other GOP supporters of the fast track trade authority urging President Obama to not submit the enabling legislation to Congress during a lame duck session.

Calling a “lame duck” consideration of the Trans-Pacific Partnership “an end-run around the American people immediately following an election,” Miller and her colleagues unambiguously opposed moving ahead with the massive trade deal before the next Congress.

The letter asserts, “TPP will set the template for trade for the next generation. It will not only impact the current 12 member nations but also countries like Korea and China that could join in the

Lesson of ‘The Snake’

Share

by Phyllis Schlafly

From Eagle Forum

Last week in Erie, Pennsylvania, Donald Trump entertained his vast crowd of supporters by reciting the lyrics to a song called “The Snake.” The song was written about 50 years ago, but it tells a timeless truth derived from Aesop’s Fables, which are more than 2,500 years old.

The song tells the story of a “tender-hearted woman” who rescues a “poor, half-frozen snake” from near death in the winter cold. “Take me in, oh tender woman,” the snake cries out. “Take me in, for heaven’s sake.” So the tender-hearted woman takes the snake into her own home, warms it by the fire and feeds it milk and honey: “If I hadn’t brought you
