Intel warns of trade war if U.S. doesn’t give away Internet

By Rick Manning at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

On March 17, the House Energy and Commerce Communications and Technology Subcommittee convened a hearing to begin to review a proposal by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to transition key domain name system functions to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

At it, U.S. Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) pointed to the fact that Congress has defunded the Internet giveaway from occurring and wanted to know what the so-called multistakeholder community would think if the prohibition were to be continued.

Review: Peter Navarro, ‘Crouching Tiger: What China’s Militarism Means For The World

If Richard Nixon could have read Peter Navarro’s new book, Crouching Tiger: What China’s Militarism Means for the World, during his landmark visit to China in 1972, he probably would have been shocked by the work or dismissed it as fantastical. After all, China’s economy was still based largely on agriculture when Nixon was there and its military was in need of modernization. Navarro describes the China of today as

Job Growth Doesn’t Mean We’re Getting Richer

In response to recent claims by the Obama administration and others that “millions of jobs” have recently been created, I examined the data here at mises.org to see if the claims were true. It turns out that job growth since the 2008 recession has actually been quite weak, and hardly something to boast about.

Nevertheless, our conclusions from these analyses tend to rest on the idea that job growth is synonymous with gains in wealth and economic prosperity.

But is that a good assumption?

In an unhampered market, the answer would be no, for several reasons.

First of all, as worker productivity increases, workers would need to

KYIV, Ukraine—The terrorist attacks in Brussels so far have produced an internal evaluation of Belgium’s intelligence and law enforcement missteps, rather than the escalated airstrikes on Islamist targets in Syria that quickly followed the deadly attacks in Paris.

Two days after the Nov. 13, 2015, terrorist attacks in Paris, French warplanes hammered the Islamic State, or ISIS, encampments and facilities in Syria.

Days later, a French aircraft carrier, the Charles de Gaulle, and its 26 warplanes

The Obama administration unsealed a federal indictment Thursday charging seven Iranian government-backed hackers with cyber crimes as the result of multiple attacks in recent years on several U.S. banks and a New York dam, according to officials.

The indictment accuses the Iranian government and its Revolutionary Guards Corps of orchestrating and conducting a years-long cyber attack on at least 46 U.S. financial institutions and a dam based outside of New York City.
