Share

By David Allen /at The Daily Signal

David Allen is a research assistant in Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies at The Heritage Foundation.

For many Americans, the days leading up to tax day are some of the most dreaded on the calendar. Over the past several weeks, Americans have spent many frustrating hours poring over W-2’s and Form 1040’s as they prepare their tax returns. According to the Internal Revenue Service, Americans collectively spend roughly 6.6 billion hours a year filling out tax forms for Uncle Sam.

In case the burdensome task of filing taxes isn’t cause enough for celebration, this week also marks “Tax Freedom Day” as calculated by the

Radical Pa. Judge Tramples Our Constitutional Rights

Share

From the Lehigh Valley Tea Party Second Amendment Committee

A radical judge first nominated to the bench by former president Bill Clinton, has just taken a giant step to try to gut our Constitutional rights, according to an article posted on www.thetrace.org.

In late March, Pennsylvania federal judge Yvette Kane ruled that a gun group, Firearm Owners Against Crime, doesn’t have legal standing to sue to overturn two gun ordinances enacted by Harrisburg. Those laws, which were allowed to stand, bar guns in local parks and prohibit the discharge of firearms in the city, noted the article.

The ruling comes nine months after an appellate court declared unconstitutional a law — Act 192 — that permitted outside groups to sue municipalities

Footage of LaVoy Finicum’s shooting by the government

The following youtube video reveals questionable actions of the FBI and Oregon State Police

Note: This confrontation was a continuation of the protest at the Oregon Wildlife Refuge. That protest was the result of the government rearresting two men that served their prison sentences but the Federal Government wanted them to serve more time. This was directly related to the Bundy ranch standoff in Nevada previously. A standoff that Bundy and his supporters won in that the Government backed off. Senator Harry Reid said that this was not over and apparently he meant it! The Finicum party was going to meet the Sheriff and citizens to try and settle the standoff and this fact the FBI and Oregon State Police knew. In

The Ranch War today in our Western States. See what our government is doing to our citizens out west. This was the beginning of what turned out to be the assassination of LaVoy Finicum in Oregon. LaVoy Finicum was supporting Cliven Bundy in Nevada. The U.S. Government arrested two members of that ranching community and wanted them sentenced to long prison terms. The trial judge refused, calling the government demands excessive, and sentenced the two to, one for 3 months and the other for one year. When they finished serving their terms in prison, the Federal Government rearrested them saying they did not serve enough time! This raises the specter of “Double Jeopardy”. This then led to the protest in Oregon that

$8.7 trillion of economic growth lost to trade deficits since 2000

Share

By Robert Romano at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

“We do not get to add 16 years of deficits and then add that to one year of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is what is being done there. If we close the trade deficit then ceteris paribus … we might be able to add one year’s trade deficit back into GDP. That $500 billion, making current year GDP $18.7 trillion, not the $27 trillion stated.”

That was Forbes.com contributor Tim Worstall disputing a piece by this author, “China and the world’s trade war against the U.S. — and why we’re losing,” where I wrote that if “$8.7 trillion [of trade deficits since 2000] had never been

In late June, citizens of the UK will vote on whether to leave the European Union, and may well make the historic decision to do so. South Heidelberg sewer easement signed into law

SOUTH HEIDELBERG TOWNSHIP – The governor signed a measure into law yesterday to help improve sewer lines in South Heidelberg Township, according to Senator David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill/Berks), who introduced the proposal.

Senate Bill 1022 conveys a permanent sanitary sewer easement and a temporary construction easement in South Heidelberg Township to run a sewer line through Wernersville State Hospital grounds. The easement only allows the Municipal Authority of South Heidelberg Township to make improvements to the sewer line. The state will maintain ownership of the property.

Argall noted that the project is expected to reduce water infiltration into the old hospital lines and
