ANOTHER STATIST, TAX-CHEERLEADER TURNS OUT TO BE A TAX DELINQUENT Nobody does hypocrisy better than leftists

by Jillian Kay Melchior at National Review

And he’s just one of the network’s four tax scofflaws

Touré Neblett, co-host of MSNBC’s The Cycle, owes more than $59,000 in taxes, according to public records reviewed by National Review. In September 2013, New York issued a state tax warrant to Neblett and his wife, Rita Nakouzi, for $46,862.68. Six months later, the state issued an additional warrant to the couple for $12,849.87.

In January 2014, Neblett tweeted, “Regressive taxation & tax-avoidance & union crushing & the financial corruption of legislation has fueled inequality more than hard work.” In 2012, he also criticized Republican politicians, saying they were “all afraid to vote for a modest tax increase of people who can totally afford it.”

Time for an adult discussion about America’s role in the world

Share

By Rick Manning at Net Right Daily

Presidential primary season is upon us, and handlers of candidates of both political parties will attempt to control how the public perceives them.

It should be a time of great debate about the future of the country. Wage deflation, a national debt approaching $20 trillion, the government’s culpability in the student loan bubble, and a graying population destined to consume more and more taxpayer resources are all big problems confronting the nation.

But perhaps the most significant problem is America’s declining status in the world. This past weekend, images from Libya of another two groups of Christians being executed for their faith were seared into our consciousness, just another of a series of horrific actions by an enemy

The deflation at hand

Share

by Robert Romano at Net Right Daily

“We’re not only going to see rates move irregularly lower, but they’re going to remain depressed for several years. This process is not coming to an end, it’s dragging on.”

That was Lacy Hunt of Hoisington Investment Management Company speaking with CNBC’s Rick Santelli on the trajectory of long-term interest rates.

And, apparently, everything else.

After all, lower interest rates predict slower economic growth and less inflation. So, a lower rate forecast is hardly something to embrace.

Hunt even considered the prospect for deflation, that is, dropping prices, saying, “Let’s say that over the next several years, 4-5 years, the long rate, the 30-year rates, go down to 1.5 [to] 2 percent, and the

Pennsylvanians For Union Reform In Legal Battle With Court Of Common Pleas

PENNSYLVANIANS FOR UNION REFORM v. CENTRE COUNTY COURT OF COMMON PLEAS Separation of powers – the fight is on!

It’s not often you get to do legal battle where the other party is the Court itself. Welcome to Pennsylvania’s Right to Know Law. I mentioned the chaos in Centre County at the PLC this last weekend (video here). We want financial records of the Courthouse. Only they’re telling us that we’re not allowed to use the Right to Know Law. We have to use their “Rule”. Imagine that. Being told by a Court that you’re not allowed to access the law! Well, it’s creating a stinker as you can see on our new webpage. The Court is telling us

These Blue States Have Tried the Elizabeth Warren Model. Their Residents Are Fleeing.

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren recently appeared on one of the late night talk shows, beating the class warfare drum and arguing for billions of dollars in new social programs paid for with higher taxes on millionaires and billionaires. In recent years, though, blue states such as California, Illinois, Delaware, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland and Minnesota adopted this very strategy, and they raised taxes on their wealthy residents. How did it work out? Almost all of these states lag behind the national average in growth of jobs and incomes. So, if income redistribution policies are the solution to shrinking the gap between rich and poor, why do they fail

Booze, babes, and EBT: Watchdog.org covers welfare abuse

Share

by Andrew Collins as Watchdog.org

The Washington Post recently ran a series of articles purporting to explain how welfare benefits are spent in America. They open with ledes like “Poverty looks pretty great if you’re not living in it,” and “There’s nothing fun about being on welfare, and a new Kansas bill aims to keep it that way.” The idea behind such pieces is to provide a counter-narrative to the “suspicion” that the poor use food stamps and other government benefits to buy luxury goods like lobster and filet mignon.

Absent from the Post’s coverage is clear, convincing data about how much abuse takes place when it comes to welfare spending. They skirt the obvious question: Can

Americans opting out of Common Core tests in droves

from WND

Across the United States, concerned parents and students are refusing to participate in new tests aligned with the federal government’s Common Core state standards, and international journalist and educator Alex Newman could not be more excited about it.

“The explosive growth of the opt-out movement has been one extremely encouraging development in a sea of bad news when it comes to government education in the United States,” Newman told WND. “As more and more parents and teachers realize what is going on with Common Core, I expect this movement to continue growing by leaps and bounds.”

Newman, the co-author of “Crimes of the Educators: How Utopians are Using Government Schools to Destroy America’s Children,” believes Common Core and its

Christie fails to report income, avoids $152,000 in taxes

Share

By Mark Lagerkvist | New Jersey Watchdog

Gov. Chris Christie failed to report as income or pay taxes on $380,000 in expense allowances he received from the state, according to a New Jersey Watchdog examination of Treasury data and the governor’s tax returns.

By not declaring the allowances on their joint returns, Christie and his wife, Mary Pat, avoided roughly $152,000 in federal income taxes over four years.

Despite an exchange of emails, Christie’s press office did not offer comment.

UPDATE: Chris Christie’s press office responded Tuesday with the following statement: “The report on NJ watchdog is categorically false and irresponsible. The expense account, which has been provided to every governor in recent memory, is not salary and isn’t kept by the Governor
