Football Coach ‘Devastated’ After Being Suspended for Postgame Prayer

High school football coach Joe Kennedy was suspended Wednesday for praying after games at the 50-yard line. (Photo: Liberty Institute)

It’s like straight out of a movie.

High school football coach Joe Kennedy, inspired by the Christian faith-based film “Facing the Giants,” walks to the 50-yard line after games to thank God for the players he has the opportunity to coach.

As of Wednesday, Kennedy has been suspended and is no longer able to participate in football program activities because of his post-game prayers.

A letter sent to Kennedy by the school district informed the coach that he has been placed on paid

Discriminating School Taxes Must End–support HB/SB 76

by Rich Shuker

Homeownership has fallen to a 48 year low, the lowest it’s been since 1967. 1967 is an interesting date due to the fact that two years earlier school districts in the state of Pennsylvania were not allowed to directly tax the people. The Constitution says the House of Representatives is supposed to provide the funding for education

Because of the taxing authority by the school districts the school tax has become a regressive and discriminatory tax, targeting the low, middle income class and the retirees.

Since 2011 school taxes have gone up 116%, despite the casino tax scam that was to provide tax relief money, but the casinos made out better than the homeowners. Maybe that’s why Gov. Rendell stated,

State Senator Scott Wagner’s Report

Attempt to Override Veto of Emergency Funding Comes Up Short

Senator Wagner took to the Senate floor after a failed attempt to override the Governor’s veto of emergency funding to schools and service providers. He brought to light the fact that the Governor has hired a State Meteorologist in the midst of the budget impasse.

As we all know, schools and community service providers are struggling without their state funding. On Wednesday, Senate Republicans attempted to override Governor Wolf’s veto of an emergency budget passed last month by the General Assembly. Unfortunately, the attempt fell short of garnering the necessary votes.

The override required a two-thirds majority, or 33 votes. While all 30 Republican Senators voted for the measure,

Schools Ordered to Help Illegal Aliens, Hold “Undocumented Immigrant Awareness Day”

OCTOBER 21, 2015 From Judicial Watch

The Obama administration is ordering the nation’s public schools to support illegal immigrant students, promote the president’s amnesty and “embrace and value” the diversity and cultural backgrounds of the foreigners receiving a free, American taxpayer-funded education.

In a 63-page “Guide for Success” issued this month, the U.S. Department of Education directs teachers in the nation’s publicly funded schools to “understand the cultural and educational backgrounds” of their students and to “model multicultural sensitivity.” Teachers should also “engage in self-reflection to address personal biases and increase multicultural competence,” according to the new mandate that also orders the incorporation of diversity and immigration into instruction. “Plan and host trainings on multicultural issues that educate teachers

The feds’ cash-for-visas foreign investor program: What could go wrong?

By Andrew Collins at the Franklin Center for Government & Public Integrity

Earlier this month, U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) took to the Senate Floor to call for reforms to a government program that most Americans probably haven’t even heard of: the EB-5 Regional Center Investment Program. Simply put, the program allows foreign investors to invest large sums of money in American projects in return for a green card, but as Grassley pointed out, the government hasn’t always followed the spirit of the rules for such investments.

The program is divided into two different investment thresholds. The lower level, requiring a minimum investment of $500,000 is supposed to help Targeted Employment Areas – poorer and

Taxpayers paid $300,000 for Pa. Turnpike corruption scandal legal fees

Brad Bumsted at the Trib Live

“Only in Pennsylvania can you mug the taxpayers and charge them legal fees,” said Eric Epstein, co-founder of Rock the Capital, a government reform group.

In many ways it was a “double crime,” Epstein said. Some defendants got to keep state pensions by pleading to lesser charges of conflict of interest while taxpayers were “on the hook for their legal fees,” he said.

The state paid legal fees for three defendants until they were charged with crimes, said turnpike spokesman Carl DeFebo Jr.
