The GOP finally releases a tax plan

Share

By Printus LeBlanc at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

Yesterday, Republicans in the House released their long-awaited tax reform and cuts package. The House GOP and the President have been talking about tax cuts for months, and even made them cornerstones of their campaigns. Business leaders want tax cuts to spur economic growth. Well, something is here. It’s early in the process, but at least we have something to start from.

The House GOP released talking points for the tax bill stating, “The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is a bold, pro-growth bill that will overhaul our nation’s tax code for the first time since President Reagan’s historic tax reform 31 years ago. With this bill, a typical middle-income

Average annual GDP growth is not what you think it is

Share

By Robert Romano at NetRight Daily and Americans for Limited Government

One of the greatest disappointments with the U.S. economy since the turn of the century has been its consistent underperformance, not growing above an inflation-adjusted average annual rate of 4 percent since 2000, and not above 3 percent since 2005.

What has come in its stead the past 10 years is the slowest economic growth rate in U.S. history — even slower than the Great Depression.

Restoring the U.S. to 3 percent or maybe even 4 percent growth has been one of President Donald Trump’s major goals, but getting there will not be so easy.

Just take 2017. On an inflation-adjusted, annualized basis, there was 1.2 percent growth in

Questions Tax Exempt Status for Muslim Mosques

Share

Dear Editor, If Christian churches or Jewish Synagogues were to ever preach hate from the pulpit or via religious indoctrination I suspect that their tax exempt (501c3) status would be summarily yanked by the IRS and respective state government. But what about Imams who routinely preach and teach death to infidels and Jews and annihilation of same in Mosques? This begs the question: Should they be allowed to keep a government authorized tax exemption benefit funded by taxpayers? If there is proof of such negative hateful and divisive deliveries….either written or orally….logic would suggest American laws would prompt the cessation of the tax exempt benefit status. What does your legislator think? Richard Cheney, Maryland

Police Stop of NY Lawmaker Is Finally Released & Look at All the Ways She Tried to Intimidate Her Way Out of the Ticket.

BY VICTORIA TAFT/IJR

Last May, a Kingston, New York, legislator was pulled over for speeding while driving her Prius on a major Ulster County road.

Now, the video of Jennifer Schwartz Berky’s encounter with Officer Gary Short finally has been made public. And it’s hard to say which part of it is worse, Berky’s excuses or her bad acting.

The almost-30-minute police stop was captured on video and shows the lawmaker, who makes $58,000 a year, admitting to the officer that she was on the phone and speeding.

Then the dissembling began.

Donald Trump: ‘Fortunately, Somebody Else Had a Gun’ in Texas Shooting

Share

President Donald Trump alluded to the local Texas resident who responded to the church shooter with his own rifle, helping cut short the horrific event.

“Fortunately, somebody else had a gun that was shooting in the opposite direction. Otherwise … it would’ve been much worse,” Trump said during a press conference in Japan:

The Air Force announced on Monday that it did not share records on the Texas church shooter’s 2012 domestic-violence-related court-martial with the FBI’s firearms background-check system, allowing him to pass numerous background checks over several years to obtain at least four firearms.

“Initial information indicates that Kelley’s domestic violence offense was not entered into the National Criminal Information Center database by the Holloman Air Force Base Office of Special Investigations,” Ann Stefanek, an Air Force spokesperson, told the Washington Free Beacon.

Devin Kelley, an atheist and Air Force reject, a man who had been court-martialed and dishonorably discharged for assaulting his wife and child, entered the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas, on Sunday in full combat gear and cut down 26 Christians in cold blood and put another 24 in the hospital. Victims include eight members of one family and the pastor’s own 14 year-old daughter. The fill-in pastor was shot in the back as he made his way up to the pulpit.

Said Wilson County Sheriff Joe D. Tackitt,
