California, Virginia, Mississippi, and others refuse Trump’s request for transparency of voter rolls

BY MARTIN BARILLAS/Spero News California, Mississippi, Virginia, and several other states have refused a request from President Donald Trump’s commission on election integrity for data from the states’ voter rolls. The Secretary of State of Mississippi Delbert Hoseman (R) responded to the request, saying “They can go jump in the Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi is a great State to launch from.” California Secretary of State Alex Padilla said, “I will not provide sensitive voter information to a commission that has already inaccurately passed judgment that millions of Californians voted illegally.” Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat, also refused the request. Read More

Tax hike vote coming this weekend?

Friday, July 7, 2017

Lawmakers in Harrisburg are rumored to be considering multiple tax hikes in an attempt to balance the budget. As a reminder, late last week both chambers passed a $32 billion budget that increases state spending by $500 million with no way to pay for it.

The Republican-controlled Legislature is said to be considering the following tax hikes:

An additional severance tax on natural gas; Electricity tax; Technology tax; Drink tax on bar and restaurant patrons.

Let me be clear: No tax hikes are necessary to balance the budget.

The Legislature could instead balance the budget by privatizing liquor, reducing corporate welfare programs such as subsidies for horse racing and tax breaks for politically selected businesses, and

The decision by Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe (D.) not to cooperate with a White House commission examining voting processes in federal elections comes after a year in which the governor circumvented the commonwealth’s supreme court to restore voting rights for convicted felons and stalled efforts by the Virginia legislature to fight voter fraud.

McAuliffe announced on Thursday evening he has “no intention of honoring” a request for publicly available

Democratic Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe was the first governor to defy requests for information from Donald Trump’s voter commission, announcing that he refuses to turn over voter registration information from the state.

An attorney for McAuliffe previously filed voter identification lawsuits in a number of states that were bankrolled by millions of dollars from liberal billionaire George Soros, who wants to expand the electorate by

One Republican senator is proposing a new solution for sanctuary cities that do not follow the law: take some of their federal funding and transfer it to a budget for President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall.

“How many innocent American lives must be lost before security becomes the first priority of immigration?” Sen. Luther Strange, R-Ala., asked the audience at an event Thursday at The Heritage Foundation titled “Securing the Border and Protecting Our Communities.”

“How many criminal aliens have to be released shy of justice being served for

Here’s what happened to crime when Phoenix dropped ‘sanctuary city’ policies

Illegal immigration advocates often cite studies that indicate illegal aliens commit less crime than citizens in the United States. However, criminal statistics from the city of Phoenix, Arizona, after dropping sanctuary city policies in 2008 completely undermine the talking point.

Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck supports sanctuary policies, and explained why he believed it meant citizens would be more safe. “We do not want to dilute trust because trust is the most important thing in policing,” he said. “We depend on our communities, particularly

Rumors are circulating widely in Washington, D.C. that Justice Anthony Kennedy may step down from the Supreme Court this summer, possibly even as early as today (Monday). He’s 81 and has been on the bench for 30 years.

While those on the left consider him a conservative, he has been an absolute disaster on issues constitutional conservatives care about. For instance, he has been on the wrong side of every single court case that deals with sexual abnormality, beginning with the Romer v. Evans case in 1996, in which Kennedy wrote
