Trump Scraps Obama Guidelines on Race-Based College Admissions

The fact that colleges and universities across the country have been using race as a factor in determining admissions is well-known. What may not be as well-known is the fact that these educational institutions have been acting under Obama-era guidelines which recommended the diversification of educational environments.

These legal recommendations are now set to be eliminated by the Trump Administration in an effort to ensure that those who work hard and earn good grades won’t be rejected from educational institutions based solely on their skin color and ethnic background.

Some Democrats Are Actually Praising Communism Now

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s win in New York’s Congressional Primary has put the Democratic Socialists of America back in the news as the organization revels in the fact that one of their own is almost certain to become the youngest member of the House of Representatives.

DSA is also using its recent win to promote its ideology, openly declaring to the public that communism is good in spite of the fact that history clearly shows otherwise. The co-Chair of the Portland DSA chapter was the first to make the declaration via Twitter; her statement was then publicly endorsed by leading DSA members in Charlottesville, Hudson County, Seattle and Queens.

Political intermarriage and the birth of the new Democrat party

Share

By Linda Goudsmit at Renew America

Intermarriage is not always a matter of race or religion – sometimes it is a matter of politics. In 2008 Barack Hussein Obama officiated at the wedding of the Democrat party and Socialism. In this case the bride and groom came from very different family backgrounds with diametrically opposed world views and political perspectives.

The bride’s family, Constitution, was 242 years old and deeply committed to individualism, equality, liberty, and limited powers of government. The groom’s family, Socialism, came to America in 1877 deeply committed to collectivism and centralized government powers. The young lovers ignored the differences and their families’ objections to the marriage in their determination to make their union work for themselves and their

ABORTION AND THE CONSTITUTION

As we enter into what surely will be another contentious confirmation process for a new Supreme Court justice, let’s consider underlying realities that deeply divide us and make it so hard to agree about how our Constitution should be interpreted and applied.

The Declaration of Independence lays the groundwork for us.

Five reasons I think “Roe v. Wade” should be overturned

Share

By Jerry Newcombe at Renew America

Soon we can expect another contentious battle in the Senate over a Supreme Court nominee. For the last few decades, in all such battles, there has been one issue (spoken or unspoken) underlying so much of the fierce fighting: abortion.

Abortion is the Holy Grail to the American left. It dominates all over considerations. Far be it from any Supreme Court justice to try and overturn “Roe v. Wade,” the January 22, 1973 decision which gave us abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy (when combined with its companion decision of the same day, “Doe v. Bolton”).

What a dark day in American history. Here are five reasons I believe that “Roe” should

On Kavanaugh: What now?

While we here at AFA vigorously supported Amy Coney Barrett to be President Trump’s next nominee to the Supreme Court, the president instead selected Brett Kavanaugh, whom we initially opposed.

However, we have withdrawn our official opposition and will allow the process to play out. We are not in a position to endorse him, but neither will we fight this nomination.

Our reservations about Judge Kavanaugh, in my judgment, are well-founded. We have legitimate reservations about his jurisprudence on religious liberty (he opined that the government might have a “compelling interest”

After several women’s rights organizations suggested President Donald Trump’s pick for the next Supreme Court justice doesn’t have the support of women, a group of former female clerks came out to defend their former boss, Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

“More than 50 percent of his law clerks have been women,” said Jennifer Mascott, a law clerk for Kavanaugh in 2006-2007 who is now assistant professor of law at the Antonin Scalia Law

President Donald Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday night.

His nomination has set off a generational fight over the future of the high court. Interest groups and grassroots organizers plan to make his confirmation the marquee fight of the Trump presidency.
